I agree, great article. When I read that Riot didn't think there would be cheating because players had to 'turn their heads a full 90 degrees' I laughed.
Still League of Legends has come a long way from having a seperate spectator client that crashed repeatedly. Hopefully Riot adds LAN, it is a major feature that DotA 2 will have and Blizzard as you said has taken a lot of heat for not having.

The whole 'he looked over his shoulder and saw the mini-map' seems like garbage to me. Having the temptation of being able to see the mini-map is distracting and unneeded. Seriously wtf is Riot up to they still can't host a proper event? DotA 2 hosted both the International and International 2 without an issue and its still in beta.
I think Riot needs to spend some of the money on preparing for the event as well as the $2,000,000 prize pool.
