Teamfight Tactics Patch 13.19 - Vanquisher City Baby!

Xayah is ready to dominate with Vanquishers as the go-to comp for Patch 13.19. With nerfs to Jayce and Cho Gath, and changes to augments/items. Expect this patch to change the meta comps, learn all the details in here.

Welcome to the first patch after Horizonbound was released. In the last patch, 13.18-B Hotfix nerfs shifted the power away from the almighty Bilgewater and drifted towards the Void reroll side of things, mainly Cho’Gath.

That's why it came as no surprise that patch 13.19 arrived with nerfs coming the way to the most overperforming reroll comps: Gunner Jayce and Bruiser Cho’Gath.

Jayce Gunner TFT comp

The Piltover variant was the highest win rate comp in patch 13.18B

In spite of nerfs, there are going to be massive buffs across the boards to most units (Xayah) and traits (Bilgewater), mainly to level them up to compete against the more stronger comps

There's a lot to uncover in this TFT Patch 13.19, so let's get into the most significant nerfs

TFT Patch 13.19

Summary of the changes. Source by Riot Games

Nerfs to OP comps – Piltover Gunner Jayce and Bruiser Cho’Gath

Gunner Jayce nerfs

  • Lowered the value of Piltover cashouts in 2 to 10 loss by "15%
  • Lowered the value of Piltover cashouts in 11 and 12 loss by -10%
  • Raised the base rewards of 6 Piltover by ~20%
  • Jayce AD lowered from 65 to 60
  • Jinx AD lowered from 55 to 50

Later cashouts got nerfed less while the 2 to 10 loss streak got hit by a 15%. Items should remain good but this should suffice as a measure to make players question more when choosing Piltover instead of defaulting to it.

What should be the nail in the coffin are the nerfs to Jayce and Jinx. Both of these units were fundamental to the comp strength, especially to win streak in early to mid stage rounds (Stage 2 and 3), with their power lowered other comps should start to ascend in power.

TLDR: Piltover still strong, not OP. Jayce and Jinx are gutted, don’t expect them to breeze through Stage 2 and 3 as previously.

Bruiser Cho’Gath

  • No changes to Bruiser or Void Trait
  • Cho’Gath Feast max Health damage ratio 15% ⇒ 12%
  • Rek’Sai starting Mana nerf: 30/70 ⇒ 50/70
  • Rek’Sai NEW: Furious Bite now marks enemies that she bites. If the target has been previously marked, the bite will deal bonus true damage
  • Rek’Sai Furious Bite Mark Damage AD ratio: 135/145/150%

Cho’Gath is still really tanky, but he will not feast through units as easily. In regards to the comp strength, Rek’Sai got buffs so Void is still in a really good spot but not as dominant compared to the other new comps competing.

Trait buffs and nerfs. Vanquisher and Bilgewater are receiving buffs. Ixtal Adjustments and nerfs to Piltover and Rogue

Bastion

  • Armor & MR: 20/40/65/125 → 20/45/75/140

After changes to sunder mechanics, Bastions are receiving compesating buffs to match the current set.

Bilgewater

  • Flat Damage: 90/125/300/650 →100/150/325/800
  • % Damage Amp: 30/50/65/150% → 33/55/70/135%

These changes will not suddenly make Bilgewater the go-to comp, but should make it more enjoyable to the pirates lovers.

Demacia

  • Armor & MR: 5/15/35/150 → 5/25/45/150

A tad of help for 7 Demacia, this change will improve the Demacia Slayer comp.

Multicaster

  • Damage Reduction: 60% → 55%

More damage to Multicasters. By looking through today datas on the patch, Twisted Fate reroll is gaining traction, should be an interesting sleeper comp to play in certain spots.

Piltover

  • Lowered the value of Piltover cashouts in 2 to 10 loss by "15%
  • Lowered the value of Piltover cashouts in 11 and 12 loss by -10%
  • Raised the base rewards of 6 Piltover by ~20%

Addressed before.

Rogue

  • Stealth Threshold: 50% → 35%

Rogues were too healthy when jumping to backliners so they are lowering the heal threshold so they feel more fragile. According to Riot Mortdog though, this change could end up being a buff.

Shurima

  • Ascension
  • Bonus: 0/15/40/75% → 0/20/50/90%

Beware of this change, there’s a possibility for Azir buffs in the upcoming B-patch. With these numbers, the Vertical Shurima could end up being a really strong comp in Patch 13.19.

Juggernaut

  • Damage Reduction: 15-25/20-35/30-45% ⇒ 15-25/20-35/35-50%

6 Juggernauts are getting even tankier.

Targon

  • Heal & Shield Boost: 18/35/55% ⇒ 18/35/60%

3 Targon are going to be very scary (and boring) to face. This may mark the return of Soraka reroll comps.

Vanquisher

  • Bonus Crit Rate: 15/35/55% → 15/35/75%
  • Bonus Crit Damage: 10/30/50% → 15/35/55%

Vanquisher comps with Xayah and Nilah are sleeper OP currently in the meta. Maybe these changes along with Xayah ones will make these comps ones to try out in Patch 13.19.

Update: Vanquisher has the highest win rate on day one of Patch 13.19.

Ixtal

Buffs to a few of the underperforming elements, especially in the 4 threshold.

Electric

4 piece reworked to Empowered champions deals 25% bonus damage to enemies that have been stunned by this effect.

Fire

  • Damage: 60% →100%
  • Empowered Damage: 100% 170%
  • Duration: 35 sec

Ice

  • Explosion is now properly trait damage
  • Explosion Damage: 30%→ 35%
  • Stone 4 Piece Heal: 650→750

Wood

  • 4 Piece Tick Rate: 4 → 2 sec
  • 4 Piece AD & AP: 15 → 10

These changes are going to make Ixtal more rewarding to play in different setups. If we take into account the buffs to Milio and Neeko, these changes could potentially make Ixtal a great trait to learn and master.

By the way, on the Ice explosion bug. This was fixed thanks to LeDuck optimization on the strategy, check this video to understand what I meant.

Apart from being known to find weird bugs, experiment with unique interactions, and cook new interesting comps/setups to play, he shares his knowledge in our MOBAFire TFT Comp Tier lists.

Each of them has an explanation from LeDuck itself on how to play the comp, the best items/units, and tips to have success when trying them out. You can check the tier list here.

Disclaimer: The current comps are updated for Patch 13.18B, expect a few days before the 13.19 changes go through.

Quick Update to Champions

One change slipped away from the TFT Patch Rundown. Now Heimerdinger is getting a new shop upgrade called Refractor Beam which will give this effect.

Refractor Beam enhances Heimers turret to shoot laser beams that pass through enemies hit and do maximum damage.

Reasoning of this change was to make Heimer an exciting carry, instead of an utility champion to give burn, shred/sunder or execute abilities

Final thought and moving to the champion changes.

Unit changes

Cost 1

Huge buffs to Milio’s ability damage, this will improve Invoker’s early game and make Milio reroll much better (Especially his two-star version).

To wrap up the buffs, Jhin and Orianna are getting mana buffs.

Cho’Gath

  • 15% → 12% Spell HP Damage Ratio

Jhin

  • Mana buff: 44/124 ⇒ 44/114

Orianna

  • Max Mana buff: 40/90 ⇒ 30/80

Milio

  • Bounce Damage - 170/250/380 → 180/270/400

  • Splash Damage - 85/125/190 → 90/140/200

Cost 2

Not too much changes to 2-cost units. A small buff to Galio’s mana and the previously mentioned Jinx nerf.

Jinx

  • 55 → 50 AD

Galio

  • Mana buff: 60/120 ⇒ 60/110

Cost 3

Nerfs to Jayce were expected after dominating patch 13.18B, but I do not understand the reasoning on buffs to Rek’Sai and Neeko, both of them were quite good. Following the trend of the previous changes, mostly green numbers (buffs).

Darius

  • 60 → 65 AD

Jayce

  • 65 → 60 AD

Neeko

  • 225/350/475 → 250/350/475

Rek’Sai

  • Starting Mana nerf: 30/70 ⇒ 50/70
  • NEW: Furious Bite now marks enemies that she bites. If the target has been previously marked, the bite will deal bonus true damage.
  • Furious Bite Mark Damage AD ratio: 135/145/150%

Karma

  • Ionia Bonus AP 20 ⇒ 25

Vel’Koz

  • Plasma Fission damage 250/375/600 ⇒ 245/365/600

Cost 4

The Strategist + Juggernaut comp is getting nerfs to both of their key ftontline units: Nasus and Jarvan IV. Rest of changes are buffs and adjustments, one to highlight is the Xayah buffs that will make her one of the strongest units to play for in Patch 13.19.

Fiora

  • Blade Waltz damage now properly applies Omnivamp when damaging shields
  • Blade Waltz Physical Damage: 150/150/250%AD ⇒ 140/140/240%AD

Jarvan IV

  • Cataclysm stun duration: 1.75/2.25/8s ⇒ 1.5/2/8s

Nasus

  • Soul Eater max Health steal: 5% ⇒ 4%

Nilah

  • Nilah will now more consistently find cleave targets without Rapid Firecannon. Her interaction with Rapid Firecannon is unchanged.

Silco

  • Undercity Tactics damage 80/120/425 ⇒ 75/115/425
  • Tooltip updated (No functional change): Throw a vial at the closest surrounded enemy, covering nearby hexes in chemicals for X seconds. Deal Y magic damage per second to chemical-affected enemies, and heal affected allies for Z per second. When possible, target unaffected groups

Xayah

  • Mana buff: 30/110 ⇒ 30/90
  • Featherstrike number of feathers: 7/7/12 ⇒ 7/7/15
  • Featherstrike Damage ratio: 80% AD ⇒ 80/80/125%AD

Cost 5

The last changes are to the almighty 5-cost units, which aren’t doing too hot at the start of Horizonbound.

In regards to buffs, Gangplank is receiving quite a few changes that will turn this pirate into a carry menace both in his melee and range form.

As stated before, Heimerdinger is getting a new upgrade called Refractor Beam that will make him carry Heimer if possible.

Lastly in the buffs department, another round of buffs/adjustments to the Ryze Region Portals effects (Yet again).

Wrapping this section up, Aatrox is getting nerfs to his Darkin Omnivamp effect. The Darkin Slayer was being slammed into many lines (Slayer, Noxus, etc) with too much effectiveness so nerfs were a given.

Aatrox

  • Darkin Omnivamp: 15% ⇒ 10%

Gangplank

  • Attack Speed: 0.80 ⇒ 0.85
  • (Melee) Burn Duration: 3s ⇒ 2s
  • (Melee) Total Burn True Damage: 300/300/2500%AD ⇒ 250/250/2500%AD
  • (Ranged) mana on hit 3 ⇒ 5

Heimerdinger

  • Technogenius (New upgrade) Refractor Beam
  • Refractor Beam: Apex Turret's ability fires multiple laser beams which deal increased damage. It gains 100% of all mana that Heimerdinger generates from traits, items, and augments.
  • Refractor Beam 1 Count: 3 beams, 10% increased damage.
  • Refractor Beam 2 Count: 3 beams, 30% increased damage.
  • Refractor Beam 3 Count: 5 beams, 30% increased damage.

Ixtal Ryze

  • Stun Duration 2/2/10 ⇒ 2/2.5/10
  • Realm Warp damage ratio 185/285/1500% Armor + MR ⇒ 200/300/1500% Armor + MR

Demacia Ryze

  • Realm Warp damage 300/450/999 ⇒ 300/450/2000

Shadow Isles Ryze

  • Bugfix: Can now resurrect allies at above 100% Health

Items changes

Horizonbound brought an entire new lineup of items. A few of the new items were too powerful (Adaptive helm) and others did not match their expectation (Crownguard), there are buffs and nerfs coming to these items along with a change to Thief’s Gloves.

The second round of changes is to artifacts. If you played the last patch you know about Orn’s power (Legend), especially due to the sheer power of artifacts and how they impact the game. One example of this was Manazane with Sorcerers.

Below you can find which artifacts got buffs/nerfs.

  • Adaptive Helm Backline Ability Power: 20 ⇒ 15 (Total Backline AP: 35 ⇒ 30)
  • Crownguard Health: 0 ⇒ 100
  • Thief’s Gloves Health: 0 ⇒ 150
  • Thief’s Gloves Crit Chance: 40% ⇒ 20%

Artifact Items

Most overperformer artifact items are getting nerfed. Only one is getting buffed (Goldmancer's Staff).

  • Manazane Ability Power: 15 ⇒ 10
  • Manazane Mana: 30 ⇒ 15
  • Zhonya’s Paradox Ability Power: 50 ⇒ 45
  • Sniper’s Focus Damage Increase Per Hex: 10% ⇒ 8%
  • Hullcrusher Bonus Health: 600 ⇒ 550
  • Anima Visage Health: 500 ⇒ 450
  • Goldmancer’s Staff Ability Power: 25 ⇒ 30
  • Obsidian Cleaver Team Bonus Stats: 10% AD and 10 AP ⇒ 8% AD and 8 AP
  • Chalice of Power Aura Ability Power: 18 ⇒ 22

Radiant Items

Following up with the changes to Thief Gloves and Crownguard, both radiant versions of the items are getting adjustments to match.

  • Jak’Sho the Protean Bonus Ability Power: 35 ⇒ 45
  • Rascal’s Gloves Health: 0 ⇒ 150
  • Rascal’s Gloves Crit Chance: 40% ⇒ 20%
  • Royal Crownshield Health: 0 ⇒ 100

Augments

According to Riot Kent and Riot Mortdog, too many players were leaning toward the Legend augments instead of looking to the other options. This was a sign that the Legend augments were too good and reliable making nerfs to be mandatory.
