League of Legends (LoL) Question: Best setup for junglers defense tree

Best setup for junglers defense tree

I wonder what the best setup for junglers in the first few points of the defense tree is right now, and also why.

I see most people run Block - Tough Skin - Unyielding - Veteran Scars - Juggernaut , but I figured Recovery - Tough Skin - Veteran Scars - Bladed Armor - Juggernaut would be better for jungling because you definitely benefit more from Recovery than Block, and Bladed Armor is for most of the time more useful than Unyielding as well.

What do you think, and is one clearly better than the other?

Okay so if you're going to be that guy (you know the one who picks Udyr and powerfarms all game while his lanes lose) then Recovery is waaaaaay better than Block .

If you're actually jungling, that means putting pressure on lanes, counter-jungling, and generally being a nuisance for the enemy team, the extra damage reduction from Block is super bueno.

The thing about Bladed Armor is it's pretty bad on most meta champions. That being said, it works very well with the new Spirit of the Ancient Golem on tank-utility junglers like Maokai. Personally, I still prefer to take Unyielding because I spend way more time ganking than anything else when I jungle.

Hope this helps a bit <3

No problem, any I didn't realize that Vyn and the guys had kinda said everything before me xD.

I'm kinda new here and didn't know how this whole response thing worked.

I think I indeed kind of agree with this answer. Some kind of sums up what I learnt from this discussion. :) Thanks a lot guys!

I know it doesn't really answer your question, but
this is what I run for 9 and 21 defense:

Not going to explain every point, if you want to know why I go for x / not for y, feel free to ask. The others already made it quite clear though.

Oppression and Swiftness are other good masteries to have though, depending on your champion.

Tough Skin is great, Bladed Armor is really terrible. Block and Unyielding are amazing masteries against champions in the early-game.

Most farm oriented junglers might not need it, but it still mathematically just is better than block and unyielding if you only powerfarm your jungle. I mean, in those cases they don't benefit much from block and unyielding either?

Most farm oriented junglers don't need those two perks anyway, perhaps with the exception of Shyvana.

Yeah, but opposed to that you have the fact that sometimes you won't be involved in fights / skirmishes for a period of two entire minutes. It just is very hard to determine which of the two is better I guess.

Do you think saying Recovery / Bladed Armor is good for when you plan on farming your jungle a lot, and Block / Unyielding is te better option if you gank often, is right?

In early / mid game teamfights, skirmishes and/or counterganks you'll block a whole lot more than once every 10 seconds. Also you're not taking the time that you're full hp into account where you don't benefit from the hpreg at all.

But doesnt the same also go for block and unyielding then? As far as I can see, in terms of health recovery is just superior as long as you are not full health in which case you do not regenerate anything. Let's assume that you always have not full health when jungling or ganking because of the damage you take. Recovery gives 2 hp/5. For block / unyielding to reach that, you must take one auto-attack every ten seconds or more, and then we don't even talk about bladed armor (which is ****, but still better than nothing). It just seems to me that at least early game you benefit a lot more from recovery than block and unyielding, whereas late-game the three masteries are just irrelevant anyway.
Sorry for being so stubborn, but it just mathematically seems to be that recovery is by far the better choice. :P

The sustain isn't necessary because you already get quite a lot from your jungle item.

Isn't it true that recovery is much more useful than block when jungling? I mean, it gives more than block if you get auto-attacked less than once per 5 seconds, which is on average always the case. I don't know the exact numbers, but let's say that it's indeed true that recovery just gives you more sustain than block and unyielding together do - would taking Recovery / Bladed Armor then not be the best option?

On junglers I don't think I need an extra need in defense to clear jungle camps like Elise it's better to go for the masteries that can help you when ganking. Just check you jungle clear time on some champions, idk what's "decent" exactly but if you feel you don't clear as effective change the masteries.
About Recovery I'd rather skip in jungle everytime.
