How many boxes can you get with each champion?

A few days ago I got my first S on Sona and I got a box. Yesterday I got my second S on Sona but I didn't get a box this time. So do you only get one box per champion you get a S on?

Also, I'm a little confused on the whole crafting part for getting Mastery 6 and 7. If someone can please explain that to me as well, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you :)

You only get one box per champ, you can only get the box if you or someone else on your team gets S. the mastery thing is simple, if you get 1 S as a champ that you already has mastery 5, you will receive an mastery 6 fragment, you need 2 fragments and 500 blue essences, or 1 champion fragment of that champion to get the mastery 6 and beyond.

the guy already mentioned the 1st point so I didn't include it but yeah you can get 1 chest per champion per season.

2 things:
1) you get box only on champion you didn't receive a box yet when you or *one of your premades* (not team) get an S- or more rank.
2) Each season it will be reset so in next season you can get a box on the same champions you already got a box.

How you get mastery level 6 and 7 won't change in the preaseason. Basically you need to play a lot of games to get to mastery level 5. After that you need to craft your way to mastery level 6 by getting two S- ratings or higher (S, S+) and by spending some blue essence (I think 500 for mastery level 6). For level 7 the only difference is that you need to get 3 S ratings or higher and spend an additional 100 blue essence (so 600 total).

Because IP and blue essence are getting merged in the preseason, the cost of your mastery level 6 and 7 upgrade will probably go up. So it won't be 500 and 600 blue essence anymore, but higher. Of course, it should also be a lot easier to get blue essence since it's replacing IP.

So when the IP transfers into blue essence during preseason it'll be easier to craft these mastery levels yes? Because I am no where near any of it at the moment lol.

To fill gravity's answer: you get 1 chest per champion, per season. So if you got chest for example playing Sona at season 7, you can get it again at season 8.
You can get chest by getting grade S- or higher, or when your premade gets it.
