IDK if someone still sees this post but ill do it anyways :b

As a support it is a vital part of your gameplay to ward. Therefore you should most of the time rush Sightstone and as soon as you get it change your trinket to Sweeping Lens to remove the opposing team wards. Having said this, and note this is my personal experience, if playing blue side (bottom team) I usually use pink wards on the tribush and the green wards from the sightsone outside the dragon pit and the lane bushes. On red side i do the opposite(pink on dragon or river bush and green ward on tribush). Come mid-game I usually ward the entrance to our jungle. From there on you should always ward objectives (dragon and baron when they are about to be up, or already up), and i follow the criteria of: If we are winning and pushing ward their jungle, if you are losing ward your own jungle. I probably didn't explain fully but feel free to ask if I wasn't clear on any subject. Hope it helps

There's plenty of places you need to ward, but knowing how to ward is just as important:

    1. (Almost) always ward the bushes. You can ward wherever you want in a lane, but if you or your minions are in the lane as well, there's no point for the ward to be there. If you ward the bushes not only will you see your opponent when you're not in lane/in jungle, but you'll still see them if they're hiding in the bushes. Pretty obvious tip, but it should be said.

    2. Ward the bushes correctly. Believe it or not there is a right and wrong way to ward the bush! I've found the best results to be warding at the edge of a bush, to maximize vision. For example, at the bush attached to Blue Buff, if you ward the outermost edge, it not only grants you vision of Blue, but of a good portion of the surrounding jungle. I use this trick sometimes when I'm jungling or invading, to see around the corner I wouldn't normally be able to see around. As far as tri-bush warding, where there isn't a great edge, try to ward inside one of the "wedges," still inside the bush but on the border.

    3. Realize that wards mean nothing if people don't look at the map. You can ward all day long, in the right spots, at the right time, but if you're below Gold, it's rare if ever that players will pay attention as much as they need to in order to stay alive. It's great practice otherwise.

There are ways to place wards in each brush that give it optimal vision. You can ward out of a brush but it should only really be done when warding lanes or objectives (jungle buffs, Drag/Baroon) Blue side gets to pink baron since it opens up to their side of the map, likewise for red side and dragon.

Try and keep bot tribrush pink warded to the best of you ability since this is really what tells you as a support when the jungler might gank. The brush in between drag/baron and mid (the small one in the river) should be warded since it's a powerful choke-point. On bot side specifically as soon as you can after getting your Sightstone, put a ward in the brush in bot lane that is furthest from your tower. Your top can tp to it or it can dissuade sneaky ganks.

    1. Positions-

Lane: My favorite spots to ward are in the river brush, bot lane tri-brush and the farthest lane brush from you. I would pink the tri brush if you are on blue side and pink the river if you are on the red team. The farthest brush ward will help let your teammates tp to help if needed. The tri and river wards will help you see the enemy jungler before he ganks.

Out of Lane: Try to ward around baron and dragon. Place one ward in the pit and try to put a ward on the other side as well. Your 3 ward could be to spot people going to buffs or trying to flank.

    2. Warding Quickly: Place sightstone on a good key bind for you and always put it there. It will become second nature to ward quickly and accurately. You could also make it so you don't need to click and it will auto place the ward where your cursor is once you press the key.

    3. What to buy to ward: Buy a sightstone. This is the key item for a support. I prefer to get the ruby sightstone upgrade instead of the others. The ruby upgrade also gives a reduction on the cool-down of active items. I find this useful because I usually buy locket and talisman of ascension.

When I ward, it's best to put wards nearby the river as you go around during the game. Bushes by the jungle nearby your lane (which is on bot lane). This is best if your teammates also put wards as well so not much time is consumed.

Pink wards by the dragon, yes. Or by the River bush. You can also use the wards that come from your Oasis if you have it as item. The green ones on surrounding bushes. But dont spend so much time putting a lot of them. Also, if the opposing team has a Teemo, BE CAREFUL OF SHROOMS. This will cost you time for you will be slowed as well as damaged. Always be wary of your surrounding. It's not worth it to ward while dying cause you are a vital part of the team, especially for your ADC/R.

These are all on my experience. So you might be in a different situation every time, learn to adjust and keep your map awareness.

U should not worry about where u ward actually cause then u will waste to much time on it and it will be uyseless. to be honest the best thing to do is to ward the river mostly and when u ward also scan the area for enemy wards. (supp main btw)
