played her for something like 10 games. but i don't find anything special about her, why is she so popular, what should i focus when playing her?

Janna is perennially a top tier support. I really can't think of a time that she has been completely out of the meta. She can be played fairly aggressively in some lanes or passively in others. Well played she can really screw up a lot of engage supports like Leona, Thresh, and even Alistar. She is the Queen of peel. If your team lacks disengage you know you can lock in Janna and have a way to get your ADC or team out of nasty situations. Ardent Censer is also very strong at the moment and pairs really well with her shield ability and her ultimate. She tends to pair nicely with attack damage based hyper carries like Twitch who is also very strong right now since her shield gives her carry bonus AD along with the shield which lets them quite often win trades in lane.

Learn how to use her Q to peel off aggressive supports like Thresh. Get good at predicting incoming damage so you can shield your ADC in time to prevent them from taking damage. Or predicting when your ADC is going to go aggressive and trade with their opponent so you can shield them for the bonus AD and shield so they win the trade. When to slow someone and when to ult are also important, but if you get the first two down your ADC is going to love you forever.

Jana is actually very op in rank since her r heals up a lot and she can shield other champions. Her q does knock up but no one even plays Yasuo in rank....

You almost never charge up Q, just tap it for the knockup. The only time I'd consider charging it is if there are a lot of people in one choke and they're guaranteed to get hit by it.

Also one of the reasons the shield is strong is the AD it gives. It's not the strongest defensive ability in the game, but it's quite good for trading.

She was actually out of meta (though not harshly) quite recently, when everyone was running ranged supports. Now with more melee supports and lots of lethality assassins, she's become more popular again.

ummm maybe it because i am a taric main, but i feel like the shield she gives is not that strong, and her Q is too hard to land as it easy to dogde it. (while it brush is easier i know), maybe i need to practice more to see it.

She's popular because 1) she's very easy to play, it's hard to screw up on her. 2) she's really good at preventing her ADCs/teammates from making mistakes, because of her disengage and peel. Both of these are important in soloQ because of the lack of comm.

She's not actually popular in high high elo (dia1+) because she doesn't have any lane pressure outside of her E though.
