League of Legends Summoner's Rift

5v5: Summoner's Rift

Summoner's Rift is a 5v5 multiplayer map wherein the objective is to destroy the enemy’s nexus. In order to do this, champions must traverse down one of three different paths (Top, Mid or Bot) in order to attack their enemy at the weakest points they can exploit.

Each lane on the opposing team’s side is defended by numerous turrets; each turret grows in strength the closer it gets to their respective nexus, and each turret must be eliminated in order to gain access to that team’s main base. Cooperating with fellow summoners is an absolute requirement for success, as it is easy for a champion to find themselves ambushed by enemies in the lanes of the Rift.

It is the only map where ranked play is enabled.

What is Top Lane in Summoner's Rift?

Top Lane is the lane located at the top of the map Summoner's Rift. Generally speaking only 1 champion per team will be in that lane. Usually that is a champion with good sustain. Top lane is normally dedicated to Tanky DPS or Bruisers.

Mid lane is the lane that is in the middle of the map Summoner's Rift. Generally speaking, only 1 person of each team will be in that lane. Usually that is the AP Carry, the champion who will try to deal a lot of magic damage. Mid lane is normally dedicated to Anti-casters and AP Carries.

What is Bot Lane in Summoner's Rift?

Bot Lane in Summoner's Rift is usually occupied by 2 champions per team, the AD Carry and the Support . They usually go Bot Lane and not Top Lane because of the Dragon; it is better if 2 champions can quickly be there to get it, than just 1.

What is the Jungle in Summoner's Rift?

The jungle is reserved mainly for Jungling by the Jungler . A Jungler is a role often seen in Summoner's Rift and Twisted Treeline . A Jungler earns gold and levels up through experience via the neutral creeps located in between the lanes, better known as “the jungle”. Typically a team will have a Jungler, two strong solo laners and a strong bottom duo lane.

There is no jungle in the The Crystal Scar.
