In Summoner's Rift and Twisted Treeline , minions spawn every 30 seconds after the 90 second mark at the beginning of the game and alternating waves have a bonus siege minion. Minion waves consist of three primary units; Siege Minion , Caster Minion and Melee Minion , and due to certain circumstances in the game, such as losing an Inhibitor or using the Summoner Spell, Promote, two other units are possible; Super Minion and Siege Rider Minion.
In Crystal Scar , an additional unit, called the Anti-turret Cannon Minion are spawned every minion wave.
Minions gain an increase of health and armor as the game progresses, as well as rewarding the last hitter with higher levels of gold.
