So after seeing Twisted Fate in multiple games in both the LCS as well as OGN, is TF slowling moving back into a somewhat viable pick in the professional scene? Why is this? Also...I always see a Morellonomicon built on him from the pros. Is it more cost efficient than an Athene's Unholy Grail on him? And I remember reading somewhere that a Lich Bane rush isn't ideal anymore.

Is really the only reason Morellonomicon is being bought more
These days I'm a big fan of the new Twin Shadows; it builds out of Aether Wisp (early movespeed), grants 80 ap and a very strong active. It happens to be TF's old go-to Mres item.
With that said, Athene's Unholy Grail has become the primary Mres pickup for TF. I don't feel that it's great and I will never build it myself. I rather go for an early negatron into Abyssal Mask or Banshee's Veil but Grail has its uses as it combines every single stat an AP caster would want.
Lich Bane took a heavy nerf, which means rushing it is no longer ideal. Building it as second or fourth (your third item is Void Staff, don't argue) item is fine though. Although I think Twin Shadows is the superior movement speed item. Getting both works but only if you're going six offensive items.
Athene's Unholy Grail gives you the magic resist you need to survive against some match ups.
Lich Bane got nerfed.
