Welcome back guys,
I just played a game with Amumu in the jungle... I went 8/1/13 and totally carried the game. The enemies couldn't kill me anymore while I flashed into the whole enemy team, activated my ult and slowed them with Randuin's Omen afterwards.
A replay will follow when I received it from a friend of mine.
What do you think about Amumu?

What do you think about Amumu?
And Amumu has great CC as well as a lot of base damage on his abilities ( Despair scales off enemy hp much more than your own AP). Tank Amumu makes the most out of his AoE sustained damage kit. You can throw in some AP with items like Abyssal Mask and Rylai's Crystal Scepter, but your focus should be on filling a tank role.
I'd say when you build Rabadon's Deathcap, you know you've gone too far.
As far as building tanky, it's really good, but usually I feel like you're picking Amumu for a later advantage, rather than an early one. In that sense, building tanky would benefit picks like Malphite over Amumu just because of shorter cooldowns on his game-breaker ult. The damage sets him apart imo.
1. He's easy to counter-jungle, especially before 6.
2. He's a little shaky on sustain, especially mana sustain without blue buff. Not as much as some champions, but it's a weakness worth mentioning. Taking his first blue sets him back a fair amount.
3. He's not a great dualist and is outmatched by most other junglers without team support.
4. His ganks are pretty strong, but he doesn't bring much actual (burst) damage to a gank. His team has to supply the majority.
5. His pre-6 ganks are unreliable and difficult to pull off unless you're good with skillshots.
6. A lot of other junglers fill the same role and he's difficult to play well, resulting him in being a bit underplayed and underrated by the more ignorant parts of the community.
7. Doesn't have much chasing power after your initial CC.
In the new jungle he's actually pretty strong thanks to his fast AoE clear and ability to gank before 6. Bad Amumu players utterly fail with him though, especially when ganking. Quick enemies can dodge your bandage with an ability, spellshield, positioning or Flash, which can also be a problem. If minions are in your way, it can be difficult to execute your gank. For a tank, he deals a lot of damage in team fights with an AoE aura W and spammable E. He works fantastic in conjunction with other AoE champions since his ult can lock down the enemy team long enough for a Kennen or Anivia to unload some serious damage.
Not my favorite jungler, but I'd never be angry to have one on my team.
Lster, I actually find that his damage sets him apart from other similar tanks. I usually build him kind of like an magic damage off-tank rather than straight up defensive items. Baaaasically, I think of him as the ideal team partner for Kennen. Double Wota, and aoe ults make it rather hard to deal with in teamfights. Just a thought. Obviously I don't play at high elo, so it could be rather different there, but he's a stronger champ than people give him credit for.
