Introduction

Hi again everyone! It's already the 5th iteration of my tier lists. I've updated them for the Jayce patch. I made a lot of changes this time. Some champions got buffed, some got nerfed, some I reconsidered. Anyway, just see for yourself.

About the tier lists

These tier lists are my personal opinion. I've made them by watching high elo and tournament games and, of course, by playing games myself. They might change a lot, depending on patches or new experiences. Feel free to tell me if you think something isn't right and I'll have a closer look at it. The tier lists take every part of a champion into consideration and are fit for high-elo and competitive games. Explanations will follow as I get feedback or change things.

Tiers
Tier 1: These are the strongest champions. They are picked or banned most of the time in competitive matches. They provide different abilities and strengths to help the team. They have few weaknesses and are hard to counter.

Tier 2: Still very strong champions, but with generally more weaknesses. They are picked a lot and are pretty much as good as tier 1 in most cases. They're just a bit easier to counter.

Tier 3: Completely viable picks. Some are safe picks but bring less to the team, some can bring much to the team but can be countered.

Tier 4: The situational picks. They can be used as counterpicks if you know who your up against. You don't see them that often though. Most of the time they aren't great.

Tier 5: Champions that still fit their role, but are not a good pick most of the time. They are underpowered compared to the higher tiers and can be countered easily at high skill levels. They can be strong at lower levels though.

Tier lists

AP carry
Factors: lategame, poke, sustain, counters, damage, damage type (AoE/single-target, burst/sustained...), survivability, CC, utility.
  • Tier 1: Kennen, Cassiopeia, Morgana, Anivia, Ryze, Galio, Ahri, Karthus
  • Tier 2: Vladimir, Mordekaiser, Kassadin, Lux, Brand, Annie, Veigar, LeBlanc, Kog’Maw
  • Tier 3: Twisted Fate, Gragas, Swain, Fizz, Viktor, Malzahar, Xerath, Ziggs, Lulu
  • Tier 4: Orianna, Soraka, Maokai, Fiddlesticks, Sion, Tristana
  • Tier 5: Katarina, Nidalee, Zilean, Nunu, Janna, Heimerdinger
  • Ryze moved up in tier 1: He seems to be even stronger than I thought previously.
  • Lux moved up to tier 2: I was thinking about putting her higher, and her mana usage got buffed.
  • Karthus moved down in tier 1: The nerf to his ult isn’t huge but it can’t be ignored.
  • Lulu moved down in tier 3: She’s pretty much old news as an AP carry.
  • Swain moved up in tier 3: I think he is better than the ones he was below.
  • Twisted Fate moved up to tier 3: He can be really strong when played correctly and I’ve overlooked him.
  • Soraka moved down to tier 4: More of a situational pick.

AD carry
Factors: lategame, laning, damage, damage type, CC, utility.
  • Tier 1: Urgot, Kog’Maw, Vayne, Tristana
  • Tier 2: Corki, Ashe, Graves, Caitlyn
  • Tier 3: Sivir, Ezreal, Draven
  • Tier 4: Kennen, Varus, Jayce
  • Tier 5: Miss Fortune, Teemo
  • Jayce added to tier 4: I think he can be played as AD carry and is pretty good, but his range is just really short.
  • Kog’Maw moved down in tier 1: He got nerfed a few times and I think he isn’t the best anymore.
  • Kennen moved down to tier 4: He got nerfed too much as an AD carry.
  • Varus moved down to tier 4: His damage is still very low compared to other AD carries.
  • Sivir moved up in tier 3: Because of others moving around.
  • Ezreal moved up to tier 3: He’s better than I thought. His damage is good and he has a built-in flash.
  • Draven moved up to tier 3: His damage is really high if played well. He’s still pretty easy to counter though.

Support
Factors: lategame, sustain, poke, burst, utility, CC, survivability.
  • Tier 1: Janna, Taric, Soraka, Alistar
  • Tier 2: Leona, Nunu, Lulu, Blitzcrank
  • Tier 3: Sona, Shen, Lux
  • Tier 4: Karma, Galio, Morgana, Orianna
  • Tier 5: Zilean, Nidalee, Fiddlesticks
  • Alistar moved down in tier 1: Slight nerfs.
  • Blitzcrank moved up to tier 2: Switched with Sona. He is a better support I think.
  • Sona moved down to tier 3: She’s becoming less popular and she’s just so squishy.

Jungler
Factors: lategame, jungle speed, ganking, invading, protecting, sustain, vulnerabilities, type (bruiser, tank, supportive...).
  • Tier 1: Lee Sin, Dr Mundo, Skarner, Udyr, Nocturne, Maokai, Nautilus, Trundle
  • Tier 2: Jarvan IV, Shyvana, Cho’Gath, Shaco, Hecarim, Sejuani, Rammus, Warwick, Amumu
  • Tier 3: Volibear, Jayce, Jax, Alistar, Nunu, Fizz, Gangplank, Wukong, Malphite, Master Yi
  • Tier 4: Fiddlesticks, Xin Zhao, Tryndamere, Renekton, Pantheon, Twitch, Olaf, Riven
  • Tier 5: Sion, Leona, Blitzcrank, Fiora, Kayle, Talon, Singed, Garen, Evelynn
  • Jayce added to tier 3: A good jungler. He has great ganking potential and good sustain.
  • Nunu moved up to tier 3: He got a huge jungle buff.
  • Rammus moved up to tier 2: I think he is still great and he got buffed a little so I’m moving him up again.

Solotop
Factors: lategame, sustain, damage, dualing, CC, type (bruiser, tank, mage...).
  • Tier 1: Kennen, Olaf, Shen, Gangplank, Lee Sin, Irelia, Riven, Yorick, Warwick, Singed
  • Tier 2: Nidalee, Vladimir, Sion, Renekton, Nasus, Trundle, Fiora, Wukong, Cho’Gath, Jax, Mordekaiser, Teemo, Tryndamere
  • Tier 3: Jayce, Jarvan IV, Xin Zhao, Malphite, Talon, Rumble, Shyvana, Galio, Kayle, Urgot, Dr Mundo
  • Tier 4: Poppy, Pantheon, Nocturne, Garen, Hecarim, Akali, Amumu, Maokai, Nautilus
  • Tier 5: Master Yi, Blitzcrank, Fizz, Katarina, Volibear, Skarner, Nunu
  • Jayce added to tier 3: He’s a good solotop and can be great when played well.
  • Shen moved down in tier 1: His nerf was pretty significant in my opinion.
  • Teemo moved up to tier 2: He’s really good and I believe he belongs in tier 2.
