5 Bans instead of 4 for ranked play ?

My vote goes out for 6+ seeing how there is always new champs being released. Like someone said before me... We NEED it.

Someone should ask some of the developers about their thoughts on the banning system. Obviously if MOBAfire can make a decent discussion about it Riot has to be thinking about it too. Might resolve it in 2nd season for sure. And yea, 6+ is fine, as long as we adjust it accordingly in a ratio to number of champs released to banned (ex. every X number of champs means 1 or X more bans in ranked games).

However, I don't know how I feel about tournament play with this kind of system implemented. If anyone really knows how some of the pro players play, like hotshotgg, they play with a certain champ very very well (not saying all of them do, just some). like in HSgg's example, they can still ban all the regular champs plus nidalee, which if you didn't know is one of his strong champs. Not saying this is a bad idea, I still think this is a great great one, but i'm just throwing this out there. Up to the rest of the community to figure out how we can implement this expanded banning system.

I repeatedly hear about Hotshot and his Nidalee skills...THEN again I also heard Regi supposedly was an amazing TF and at DH he got his shot and was the worst player on his team that game....With that said he did pretty much get focused anytime he ultied in to a team fight.

If they could make a limit on types of champs banned, say only 3 of one type then three of another (if they did 6) That way you pick 3 key Tank champs and 3 key DPS or Support bans. At least make it so we don't inevitably see 6 solid tanks banned leaving people to try and tank with Yorick...(I know there are plenty of tank champs) still, some people do have their favorites. It would be like banning your favorite champ (doesn't need to be your best just the one you have fun with)every game for 20 games straight. Why would you play LoL if you never got to use your favorite champ?

The issue is that peoples favorite champion is usually the ' fotm '.

I'm against banning really. In my opinion noone is OP and everyone is shutdownable, you just got to know how. Little excitement in playing against champions wich people deem "unbeatable" and "OP" is good in opinion :).
There is no such thing as skill, because there is always some asian kid that'll beat you.

But there is direct counters to your team. It's extremely required for tournament play too.

If your team gets decimated by Rumble, then ban him, for example. There's a reason he was banned 22/27 games at DH - and that's not because he is completely fine and balanced...


You ban stuff in soloqueue that can decimate in soloqueue. A good Karthus/TF against bad teammates will stomp you.

I think it should be raised to 6/8, it allows for a lot more strategic picks!

It really allows you to pick competitively in tournament play where you can actually aim for a certain team composition but if X character just destroys it, you try to remove him/her from the game. It allows for more creative scenarios where one team will be like "Hm.. how do we counter their strategy with our strategy"
