Sheen procs on Poppy's skills, so I don't think building Hexblade for that reason is sensible. Trinity is really pure awesomeness on Poppy so I'd say that is the first "big" item you should build.

@ the build, the first thing I'd say is that I like it, but I wonder if you're familiar with the Abyssal Scepter. I notice you have not built any Magic Resistance at all, and the Scepter gives 57 MRes as well as 70 AP and 20 reduced enemy MRes -- good for both attack and defense. If you'd rather go glass cannon that's understandable, but I was just wondering if you were aware of that item. I often build it after the Hextech Gunblade.

I like your idea of maxed CDR, but I wonder if you're sacrificing too much. Specifically, you don't have Tenacity in your build -- the 35% reduction to time spent stunned/blinded/silenced/etc. You can get this from Merc Treads or Eleisa's Miracle (Philo Stone upgrade). Other items as well but those are the best fit for Poppy IMO.

The way I get to near-max CDR on Poppy is: same masteries (9%), CDR/lvl glyphs (8.1% at 18), Frozen Heart (20%). Voila, 37% CDR. You also get 500 extra mana, which for me just about puts an end to all mana worries.

The drawback -- and advantage -- of this is that your boots are not CDR but something else -- Merc Treads, Sorceror's Shoes, whatever. You have to get another 1500 free to get the Glacial whatever (CDR component of F. Heart) to get that 15% back. (1300 more for the last 5%.)

I don't know if any of that is something you want to change in your build, but I hope it gave you food for thought.

Hi FinalFan,

You certainly gave me some food for thought. Yes the 35% Tenacity is a big thing, specially with CC heavy teams, but I've noticed that if you time your Ulti right (plop it on a hero who can't CC), then you won't need the Tenacity since none of their CC's will affect you.

Also, I didn't get any Magic Resist, cause of Poppy's passive. She can't be bursted as fast as other carries cause of this. Hence, I opted for more damage. My logic is if I happen to stun them to the wall and Bash 2x, they should be dead or running away, which then I just activate Shurelya's or Hextech or Skill W and viola dead enemy :D

Lastly, I went with the 15% CDR boots so I can get as close to CDR cap as fast as possible cause I hated it when mid-game my CDR's weren't up when I needed them. "The 0.5 seconds and I could've hit that Yi which escaped syndrome...", 15% Boots + 10% Masteries gives you 25% CDR. Good CDR for level 6-7 (About the time I get my boots). Get the Blue Buff and 40% already! :D

I hope my reply helps. Sorry it's so late!

really like your build and i have to admit that cdr did it for me. poppy was suddenly fun again :) I usually use nashors instead of shurelias. and as PureKnickers stated above it might sometimes be worth it to delay trinity (after you buy sheen of course) for nashors. sometimes money leads the way here ;)

great guide though. cdr on poppy rocks.. good damage from q being back so fast, w always ready. really great!!

underrated guide imho.

Thanks so much! Yeah, its nice making people think "oh he just used his hammer, poppy won't do much damage for a while." Then *WHAM* you smack them again and their life bar just disappears :P

Sheen procs on Poppy's skills, so I don't think building Hexblade for that reason is sensible. Trinity is really pure awesomeness on Poppy so I'd say that is the first "big" item you should build.

Thank you for the guide. I've been trying to get back into Poppy, and you've given me a few ideas to play with. Specifically, I'm going to try and get Sheen before full boots, get Phantom Dancer and Hextech Gunblade.

There are a couple of choices that I'd like to see some more justification/commentary for.
a) Regarding equipment order, up to completed Berserker's Greaves, your order seems detailed and sensible. After that though, how close do you follow the order of items? I would have thought one of the CDR items ( Shurelya's Battlesong or Nashor's Tooth) should be purchased earlier. Also, since Sheen has the important AD after spell bonus, have you thought up holding off the completion of Trinity Force until after Hextech Gunblade (which gives a movement reduction active)?

b) I'm a little skeptical of using Greater Seal of Attack Speed on Poppy. AS tends only to be beneficial when fighting static targets, like minions and melee champions. However, I find Poppy is generally chasing ranged champions and having to spend the swing timer catching up to the running champion. Have you tried other seal options? I was thinking Greater Seal of Replenishment or Greater Seal of Vigor to aid in laning.

Thank you again for posting the guide R+!

Thanks for the Nice comments, I'll be reworking the build to add the suggestions, like getting CDR a bit earlier and adding some playing style and tips on how I use Poppy. I was able to get a whopping 30-4-9 last game cause of some of your comments :D Thanks!

Hybrid Poppy came into my head back when I was playing AP Poppy. I was sick of just blowing all my abilities and just standing there, so I wanted to have a presence after my initial burst. Unfortunately, I never got to finish up on my build for it and never play tested it.
This build is a little skinpy though, you should add how playing this Poppy compares to other characters or what your role in playing this build should be.
This gave me some great ideas. Really good build. Thanks!
