Well I personally wouldn't mind seeing more wards funny as that sounds. As comparing the ward game to dota and hon wards are cheaper in LoL and cheaper to counter. This allows every character the ability to ward.

I seen a single ward win a game on no less than 50 occasions though I'm sure we might disagree on that. Some might say it was the blitzcrank hook on the poor sona trying to counter that oddly placed ward. Or some might say it's the fault of someone not buying oracles before massing in the jungle only to get fiddle ulted because of the vision.

To stick to the original post though as this game has evolved I have been seeing teams warding more in tournaments. It's hard to find the point at which a ward isn't worth the 75g investment.

Moar wards = win.

Quickest way to change a hurting team is to buy MOAR WARDS.

Seriously.

Buying and placing wards does nothing

Using your minimap when wards are in position does.

Too much wards resulted in money not invested to items thus make you weaker. Even you have all visions what you can do? You cnanot fight them becauseyou have not enough health.

Well I can tell you having a ward showing me that the whole enemy team is away from top, will let me push safely. If your wards aren't being useful it's no one's fault but your own. Wards are cheap in comparison to other items, they're meant to be bought with left over gold. Or that's how I use them.

You act like having COMPLETE vision of the enemy team so that your tank can initiate perfectly and you can execute a perfect initiation overall isn't worth not having a reverie or some random support item. Yeah, it sucks not having those items, but those items don't win games. Support's can turn the tides of fights, but it has nothing to do with their items. It has to do with an amazing sona ult or Janna flashing in and ulting people into fiddle's ult, but whether or not I have aegis doesn't stop me from doing this. It just means I need to play more carefully but what you gain in return (aka having complete vision of their team so your initiator can initiate easily and you can focus fire before they even know what hit them) is extremely potent compared to having a pinch of survivability or having a tiny speed boost that barely lasts more than a couple seconds.

I feel like it's a fact that wards win games. I can't count the times wards have saved me even though I didn't actually realize it has. Warding Baron and Dragon is just a given. But warding key jungle spots for early game and the bushes in the river by the top and bot lanes are also very important life saving points to ward(other always to be warded areas can be found in any ward guide). For other areas that you would like to ward but would be a money and time wasting mistake is to tell the support to grab Clairvoyance for those "I wonder if they're there" moments in the game.

I think this statement has quiet some substantial truth in it, even though I wouldn't say it like this.

Having an Aegis, Shurelias or even more expensive items like Rylais - in short, anything that adds to your utility - on supports is extremely helpful and can decide teamfights. Wards are important and it's awesome to have complete vision. But you need to be as efficient with them as possible. 2 Wards are good enough to cover one jungle quarter, cv will handle the rest.

I used to do exactly what you said - get 3 gold items and only buy wards after that. However, I didn't have any impact on teamfights since I was flat out AoEd down along the way. Getting a Shurelias alone increased survivability and utility by a lot. Getting a giants belt on Soraka (Later building a Rylais if the match drags on) and suddenly the enemies have to focus you to actually kill you instead of you going down along the way.

Yes many wards are awesome and can help substantially. However, being efficient with them is enough and being useful in teamfights will help you more.

I always try to have 5 Wards on my support to lay them down where the action is going to happen. I don't need to ward the bottom when everything revolves around contesting Baron. I don't need to see the enemy doing his Blue Buff when I see their mage running towards it. For specific vision I've got cv.
