See that's the thing, though. You can't really passive carry yourself up elo most of the time because it still depends on your teammates to have a shred of skill if you want to win. You can cc the akali all you want, but if everyone still focuses Rammus, you're screwed.

You have to be that much better than everyone on your team to passive carry yourself up elo.

You can have a great impact on the game, but you can't really... carry... that's like... against the definition of a support... What's the role of support? To... support... the... carry...?

The carry merely does the damage.

Imagine Dyrus/Korean meta.
4 tanky/cc oriented champions
1 hard hitting late game carry

Now even though the carry is doing the damage, it's fair to say they aren't the only person on the team making an effort.

Quite a few pro AD carries have admitted that supports make plays happen. Take Janna, a clutch shield/whirlwind/monsoon can create an incredible lane opportunity, Caitlyn merely needs to slap a trap down and click on them.

I'm not saying that supports can't make plays happen. But in my eyes, game-changer doesn't necessarily equate to carrying a game or carrying up elo. Supports create opportunities for the carries to get fed. They make great plays to give their team opportunities. Carries take opportunities and win games.

A great support can create a lot of opportunities, but if the team cannot take advantage of them, then it goes to waste.

But any elo will make mistakes, and if a great carry can find mistakes and turn them into opportunities, then they don't necessarily need a good support in order to carry.

The carry will at least take a few opportunities.

You could use exactly the same argument in reverse.

The AD carry can do well and good but if the support's bad and can't carry bot lane then they can't use their farm effectively or do anything with it. Nobody lets a Kog'maw run at them and 2v1 them.

I realize what you are saying, and somewhat relent to the fact that a support CAN carry a team. I just feel like a great carry has many more opportunities to carry than a great support, and so you will normally not see a support carry themselves up unless they are significantly better than their elo.

So.. why not screenshot your match history and post here: http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/forum/general/post-your-game-stats-here-2014

If you wanted to discuss your thoughts on carrying solo queue with supports make it more clear and provide concise arguments with support other than just your stats.
