Do what I did - duo queue! Then if your partner drops ELO, play solo queue.
If you lose ELO, you can play with your partner.
If you get ELO, you be happy.
:D
Win win situation o-o

But yes, there is always that 1 ******. I had a KogMaw recently walk into enemy blue at 1min in, expecting nobody to be there. What the ****. He had a BR tag in his name. I don't mean to be racist. . . But honestly, I've never won a single ranked game where somebody had BR in their name ( Or if I see a duo queue where both players are BR and speak Portuguese(?). Either way, BR + Me = Instant ELO Drop ).
After he fed first blood ( He was going mid ) he went bot for the entire game and farmed, but did nothing with his farm. **** these kids, honestly.

^^That's not racism, it's experience. Racism involves making judgements out of ignorance. If you've play 20 games with someone who has a "BR" tag in their name and lost a majority of those times, AND it was 85% "BR" person's fault because they played poorly...Then you have an accurate time tested assessment.

You can then make the arguement that "Most of the time if not ALL the time I typically lose whenever a person with a "BR" tag in their name is on my team. It is majoritively their fault because these people (with BR in their name) CONSISTENTLY play poorly regardless of champion/team comp/etc.

If you can say that, then you're clearly making a judgement based on experience.

Since you're matched with, and against, people of similar skill levels, that wouldn't be a fair analysis at all.

You will simply have been lucky/unlucky, as the case may be.

That, or you're selectively picking out the times you've lost, and as such, would be being racist.

If my LoLRecorder was working, I could show you the game with the KogMaw. Unfortunately all my files got deleted after I downloaded a new patch ;c

Some people I see with BR in their name actually do fairly well.

But then again, there aren't that many people with BR in their name tags to begin with.

Thanks to jhoijhoi for the sig ! :)

We know this to be false. Or at the very least "being matched with people of similar skill" can not ALWAYS be true.

People fresh from dinging 30 have the same opprutunities as people who have been 30 since the middle of season 1 (or anyone who has reached SL 30) for getting matched in ranked games. Mainly because the ELO system places players at ~1200 ELO before they even play a game. It's a system implemented to allow those players who excell at LoL less hastle in reachieving their ELO bracket in each season. The same system is present in WoW for PvP players.

BUT maybe I was offering unfair reasoning. Made sense to me with the whole "If then" deal :P

For all arguments sake, that is irrelevant if the average skill level of all players is 1200.

Basically, because of how the elo system works, it is a zero sum equation, and the average elo of all players currently in the system will always be 1200. (Or extremely close, rounding and what not.)

Because of all players having an average skill level of 1200, if all new players are assumed to be 1200, you remove any matchmaking issues of high level players intermixing with low level players in the long run.

Using this same logic, there is no Elo hell because both teams have an equal chance to get bad players/leavers/dc's/amazing players in them.
Tri lane for life.
