^Only problem with that, opponent will technically have a better late game because of their bonus stats and the fact that none of you have probably killed them.
You will get your end game earlier, but theirs will be stronger.

Even with the passive gold gain you get, you only get about 1500 gold with full runes and masteries at 10min in, compared to the 2400 or so gold you would get if you learned how to last hit like a boss.

In lanes you'll need every advantage you can get, and in jungle I can't imagine GP10 being higher impact than move speed.

That being said, it shouldn't be ignored that you -could- run GP10 quints on junglers I suppose, and for supports I think they are very viable personally.

Gangplank builds, HoG and Philosopher Stone, and just focus on last hitting with parrley.
Twisted builds a early Philosopher stone and after goes "normal" build.
The jungler builds same as Gangplank, the support does the same.
And the AD carry just go straight out damage.

This setup would generate a high amount of gold/10 (someone care to do the math?), and in theory give a better endgame for your team. Your Gangplank could probably have almost full itemization at 30min with ease if he has focused on farming, Atmogs, Trinity, IE..
Think about the differences for each teams total gold earned, I think those stats would pretty much be superior compared to the "normal" quints, and your team would have a really strong early late game compared to the other team.

But this kind of strategy only would work if you know that it's going to be a long game, and you know that you won't fail your lane.

But the idea is thrilling, isn't it ?


Might be a fun blind pick gag.

I have been running GP10 quints on junglers (largely because I haven't played long enough to have more than two rune pages), and it doesn't fail. However, other quints that up clear times likely come out about even in terms of early game gold gain (not counting the gold value of those stats themselves) due to clearing more camps, if not actually better, and provide more if the game goes on to full builds.

I think the greatest distinction is how move speed is just -so strong- that if you can use move speed quints, you just do it in most cases.

I just want to point out that GP/10 quints are the best when you hit lvl 20 as you can afford them (any other quints costs 2k) . The GP/10 runes however aren't as usefull, i prefer flat armor sceals (because as someone said, you don't want to get rapped by harass).
