singed needs to be tanky and YOU SHOULD NEVER BUY SWIFTBOOTS ON HIM tabi are always better o0
you will be faster than anyone anyways with ult masteries runes + fon so why waste extra dodge/ccred o0
just go traditional roa fon rylais build and you will be fine... most other builds are pretty bad
expecially ad singed since none of his abilities scale in any way with ad/as or anything like that o0^^
greez sam

I wanted to slap you for that.
I played a game once with a Singed who used Ninja Tabi and claimed his runes, masteries ect. would be more than enough.
He could never catch anyone and long story short he got raped.
Boots of Swiftness work amazing on Singed, and saying never to buy them is ridiculous.
Sure he has his ult, but that's not always up and a waste to use just to catch one fleeing enemy.
Singed runs around, catching opponents and flinging them back, kiting people through his smoke, and escaping crazy ganks.
Boots of Swiftness help for tower diving and flinging back to your team, and just so many different things. Singed needs to be FAST and ALWAYS. You can't rely on just your ult for that. I even bring ghost with me when I play him for the times I need just a little extra speed and don't want to use my ultimate.
IMO the best way to play Singed is AP-Offtank. What is the point of a tank that does nothing to draw focus and they run around you killing the rest of your team then jumping on you last while you run in circles with your smoke that barely hurts? Cause that's singed if built straight tank. Sure, he has his fling, but you won't even be able to catch anyone because you're wearing Ninja Tabi.
I mean, there MIGHT be an occassional game with a super heavy AD team and you can work Ninja Tabi into your build, but even then I wouldn't I'd rather just build a thornmail or zhonya's hourglass instead of FoN right then and keep my speed.

Basically, Boots of Swiftness are way better than Ninja Tabi and saying they aren't is stupid.

He's right. Either Merc for CC reduction or Tabi for speed. You should just not get Swiftness on Singed.
I'm a strong independent black mage who don't need no mana.

I have to respectfully disagree.
I don't know if I said in my last post, but yea Merc Treades would be better if they have a very heavy CC team. But in my opinion and in my build and playstyle, Ninja Tabi just isn't worth it. The dodge isn't enough to make a huge difference, and the Armor isn't too big early game, you can wait and build an Armor item earlier if you need it that badly. I'm sure you could set up your build a certain way in a certain situation with heavy AD enemies that would include Nina Tabi, but I don't see that being needed too often.
Maybe it was my experience with the only Singed I've ever seen to use Ninja Tabi that left me a bit biased.
But this is why I love the Theorycraft thread. I can present my opinions and arguments strongly, and if some one is able to prove me wrong then I will accept it and learn.
I'm not the most experienced player with only 300-400 wins over all my accounts and not playing in a high-elo, but I'm learning and I like to try and think outside the box sometimes.
Anyways, what reasoning do you have to never take Boots of Swiftness? Because if I'm wrong, then I'd like to know why so I can learn from it.

EDIT: By the way, I was a bit rude in my earlier post and I apologize. lol Sometimes I get a little too opinionated and say things like that. However I'm more than willing to accept the fact that I'm wrong if in fact I am.

If you're running 21 defense masteries (which most Singed players do) you're simply better off with dodge. It reduces a lot of physical damage and makes you faster if they (and they probably will) attack you.

With 0/9/21 masteries it's viable to use Swiftness because you don't have the dodge mastery, but Merc are generally still better, even against low CC teams.

The speed you get from Boots of Swiftness is just easier to get than the stats offered by Merc or Tabi.
The moment a religious person unknowingly calls his own ways stupid: "And lol. I highly doubt you have magic powers. If you proved it I would believe you, but since you 'refuse to', I choose not to."

This is an old thread but i just started playing Singed...is Phantom Dancer feasible to add to the traditional AP/tanky build? I mean i could see the [ignores unit collision] really helping out spreading the poison and chasing people, and can the 30% crit chance proc off poison ticks? You are wasting the attack speed I guess...

Singed can build swiftness, merc is usually better but swiftness is good vs like ashe or anivia who will otherwise slow you for days.
Check out my singed guide :)
