so i was wondering what would give more damage to high health targets like cho'gath and volibear. BotRK gives 5% of targets current health while the BT gives 75 more att. Would BotRK be stronger against high hp targets?

Yes it would. As long as the target is over 1500 HP, you do more damage per hit with a BotRK than a fulled bloodthirster. Note that BotRK also gives attack speed, which increases your DPS.

If your AD Carry has excellent AD scaling abilities like Spinning Axe or Bullet Time, however, it's usually a better idea to buy Bloodthirster since it will give you lots of extra damage on those abilities, whereas Blade of the Ruined King wouldn't.

so what about a character like vayne? would it be stronger seeing that her w already deals massive damage and could shred through health pretty fast?

It also really depends on your needs for the game. Blade of the Ruined King will give you a self-peel for people who jump on you.

Damage won't help you if you're dead. :P

Naw, just kill them before they kill you. That's how everything works in this game, right? :3

Seriously though the active is pretty sick. As for the OP's earlier question: Yes, Vayne would benefit from getting Blade of the Ruined King early. I do hope you aren't maxing W first, though; lots of people go crazy over Silver Bolts for no reason.

This is 100% true. In order to kill someone from 100 to nothing, with silver bolts alone, you have to attack or use sills on them 39 times. Doesn't include any AD or base damages. And, Silver bolts has to be at max rank for that scenario.
