GO GO GO GENTLEMAN CHOGATH!
Some Of my resent games as cho
I couldn't seem to buy all of the items on the first guide without having my 6 slots fill up? I had to sell something to buy lich bane.. Why is this?
That is true, but I think that once you get enough gold for Lich bane and Rabadon's Deathcap, your Doran's Ring becomes pretty much useless. I had this same problem on many other builds due to buying wards/pots a lot.
with the 4.11 patch, and for the jungling build, pls replace the Spirit Stone with the Quill Coat, as former doesn't lead to Spirit of the Ancient Golem anymore (flat health is just +200 instead of +350 now, but it gives +25% health in general (doesn't occur in-client))
The Hunter's Machete costs an additional 25 gold now, so Machete + 5 Potions doesn't work.
I realized in my ~20 Cho jungling games that I can start with blue without the need for leash, and 2x Health Potions are still enough (if you clear and Smite correctly in the following camps, you will just need 1x Health Potion to be safe). I used to buy a Stealth Ward instead of the additional Health Potions, or I just save the money for later. With the new Quill Coat, which has an active to place a ward, you can leave out the Stealth Ward and just have to spend 395 gold +/- 1 potion on start. If you want to use abilities for clearing camps faster, one or two Mana Potions might be a good idea (not sure if useful, just got the idea).
I also don't buy the Chain Vest as it's not a basic item of your suggested later items, but the Cloth Armor instead, and that still works fine. Since Spirit of the Ancient Golem provides +20 armor now, it's even more reasonable (funnily the patch notes say so, but the item description in the client does not. the additional +25% health also don't occur there.)
I don't know why you max Feral Scream over Rupture, as the latter does more damage. Is it because of the mana costs? If so, I'd suggest to max Rupture when the cost is the same (after level 12 in your sequence)
for the jungle masteries:
Offense tree is not possible. I run 3x Fury , Butcher + Feast , full Mental Force + Arcane Mastery. Brute Force is not necessary, I once built an AD cho for fun with maxing E first and he yet did dozens of times more magical damage. I've seen that for the current season, the 9 points can also be put into Utiliy (I'm fine with Offense).
btw, thx for this guide, Cho'Gath was my first and is my main champ (top lane), mainly with the help of this guide.
I use this guide for ranked, thank you for putting it up here :)
