Hi, I am a Challenger Katarina main for NA that goes by the name "My Kat Evolved". I am currently ranked #1 Kat NA according to lolskill.net and want to share the build that I have gotten challenger with, and have gotten an account from unranked to diamond in under 60 games with an 80% winrate on katarina. This build will focus around getting ahead in your lane then roaming afterwards.

You mainly want to take AD over AP on your runes for Katarina because of her E's auto attack reset and how high her AD Ratios are on her skills rather than her AP Ratios.

The masteries are pretty standard for Katarina however, Its better to take 5 points in Savagery over Wanderer because it lets you clear waves insanely fast with your dagger combos.

The Core Build is Hextech Gunblade > Dead Man's Plate or Spirit Visage (Depending on matchup) > Void Staff > Rabadon's Deathcap.

Boots can vary from Sorc shoes, Ninja Tabi, or Merc treads (I prefer Sorc shoes over most boots)

Skill order is R > Q > E > W

Many Katarina players go Ignite/Flash (Like me)

You can however also go Ghost/Flash or Ignite/Exhuast.

The pros to this build is that you will be able to still do burst damage to squishies and some bruisers while being able to roam insanely fast and sustain in fights in order to use more abilities and get those resets.

The cons to this build however, you will be missing out on a little bit of damage because you're getting a tank item second, not an AP item.

Farming during the laning phase can usually be difficult with katarina but if you use your daggers correctly and place them in the back of the enemies caster minions you will be adding a lot of pressure and forcing your enemy laner to not trade/farm and if they do you can one-shot them.
