Introduction

Hello there, I'm Kurakowski (DeusArtifex in game) and welcome to my Lucian build and guide. Above you'll find classic and fun builds for Lucian, and in sections bellow I'll try my best explaining how to play with the first one. If you like my work(or not), don't forget to give a vote and/or a comment. Guide isn't yet finished though, I'll try to update it gradually.

So, Lucian is treated harshly in this season, but with a bit of work he can be a worthy adc pick due to his mobility and burst. He's my champion of choice to try and wreck some people this season, mostly 'cause of those two and amount of fun you can have playing him.

Pros / Cons

PROS + High mobility
+ Great burst
+ Hard to gank
+ Decent poke
+ Great chasing/runing potential
+ Good farming kit
- Tricky long range poke
- Easly denied early-game
- Poor late-game
- High mana costs
CONS

As you can see, I've listed more pros than cons. Despite that, being denied in early means end of the game for Lucian in most cases and it's a huge thing. BUT! If you can handle early, you're having a nice kit to go and win the game with.

Runes

Press the Attack is and probably will always be the best option for Lucian right now in my opinion. As some would pick Fleet Footwork over it, I strongly advise against it. Despite the survivability from Footwork, PTA opens up Lucians dmg and is really easy to stack 'cause of his passive Lightslinger. Moreover, it works perfectly with any dmg dealing supports like for example Lulu.

Triumph. Well, I can't say much more than you can see in it's description. Can save you after killing somebody in a close fight and/or open a possibility to continue the fight.

Legend: Bloodline, now that's a choice that I wasn't sure of. As I've tested both bloodline and alacrity, both seem to work fine. I'd choose bloodline over alacrity though, mostly 'cause of survivability that it provides and that Lucian lacks compared to Fleet Footwork using adc's, which are still common.

Coup de Grace is the best of the three choices you have here since it deals most dmg during the game.

Celerity. I'd dare to say that every adc would take this right now. Bonus movement speed + the small dmg boost you get from building any item out of Zeal (which most of adc's do) are certainly useful.

Gathering Storm is best choice in here. You'll fix your mana problem with Essence Reaver so you don't need Manaflow Band and your poke as Lucian is solid enough that you don't need Scorch. Moreover both of the previous runes don't give you that much as an adc. Gathering Storm gives you that sweet AD as the game goes, which is really useful, and this is probably the biggest reason that I prefer going for second tree sorcery over domination.

Spells

Flash

Heal

Let's make it simple.
Flash is the most useful summoner spell. Provides some mobility in critical situations and can be used both offensively and defensively. You'll gain more from flash than from Ghost since you can use it through obstacles and you already have movement speed bonus from Ardent Blaze.

Heal gives you survivability which is important, and can be a key in early game to either live through or get some kills in early fights.

As a first ability you'll want to max Q Piercing Light as your first ability starting from lvl 1 as it is your main dmg source. Depending on what's happening on lane you can either pick this, or your W, Ardent Blaze on lvl 3. Do this if you know that your jungler is going to gank you on lvl 3.

Second skill to max is your E, Relentless Pursuit. Great dash ability to either run or attack, which cost and cd are fairly reduced as maxed (it costs no mana on lvl 5). If you know it'll be safe, you'll want to use this ability before any other, cause it's cd is reduced by 1sec per every landed shot of your passive (2sec for champion hits).

Ardent Blaze, your W, should be maxed as a last ability in your kit. It's useful, as it gives you that bonus movement speed for damaging an enemy marked with it, even if it's your ally who deals the dmg. It's not worth maxing it earlier, as the movement speed you get from it isn't guaranteed nor as useful as a dash Relentless Pursuit provides you with, and it's dmg is much lower than your Piercing Light's (and it's the wrong scaling).
