A Simple Guide to Permaspin Tryndamere (S11)

By Kurooaisu
Hello, I'm Kurooaisu, a League of Legends player who doesn't really play much League so I'm basically nobody. What I lack in experience I make up with maths, though! I like trying troll builds, I like theorycrafting, and I like writing, so if I discover some awful shenanigans, I write it.

Tryndamere is a champion with right arm a lot stronger than left arm (bad joke, i know). He is a manaless Skirmisher champion with very straightforward gameplay: spinning, right clicking enemies to death and pressing R and Q not to die.
I'm not even a remotely good Tryndamere player. Instead of making a serious Tryndamere guide, I'll focus on one thing: making a permaspin Tryndamere. So I'll keep this guide short and concise.
What is Permaspin Tryndamere?

As simple as the name suggests: A Tryndamere that spins a lot. It means that in this build, we will be manipulating the cooldown of E so you can spin very very fast it feels like you're permanently spinning. Especially because Tryndamere doesn't use mana.

Spinning Slash

COOLDOWN: 12 / 11 / 10 / 9 / 8
ACTIVE: Tryndamere dashes to the target location, dealing physical damage to enemies in his path and gaining 2 Fury per enemy hit. Spinning Slash's cooldown is reduced by 1 second whenever Tryndamere's basic attacks critically strike on-hit, increased to 2 seconds against champions.

Note: The full duration of Tryndamere's dash is about 0.8 seconds and doesn't scale with movement speed.

Navori Quickblades is a perfect item for this job because it provides Critical Rate, high amount of Ability Haste, and another Crit cooldown reduction effect.
Permaspin 1: 2 Auto + E

The first thing we're going to do is using 2 auto attacks to reduce E cooldown to 0.

The amazing thing about Tryndamere's E is that it doesn't have minimum dash range. So, you can hover it on the top of your enemy to spin on top of them. It essentially plays like having Ironspike Whip items.

To do this, you need to MAX E RUSH NAVORI BUY 3 CLOAKS REEEEEEEEEEEE!

No, seriously. It might sound troll, but yes, that's all you need! However, you will lack some of the things you ACTUALLY need for Tryndamere such as an actual mythic, attack speed, Sheen, etc for an item which is pretty expensive, 3400 gold.

Another combo you can unlock with these items is E to enemy + AA + AA + E back.
Permaspin 2: 2 Auto + E On Non-Champions

What about doing the same thing, but on non-champions? Yes, you can!

That's an example of doing 2 auto to reset E cooldown. No, you don't actually need 98 Ability Haste like this video. I only do that because it's cool to see Tryndamere soloing Baron. You only need need at least 78 Ability Haste (build example shown above on the Item Build section). And, again, max E.

If you have some nice lead, consider building Permaspin 2. I could say that using Permaspin 2 build is pretty ideal for Tryndamere. You get a lot of Ability Haste to lower E cooldown to 2 hits even on minions. While you also lower you R cooldown by at least 40%. And you also benefit from building Tryndamere mythics you actually know and love.

Mathematics?
Permaspin 3: 1 Auto 1 E

And you can do even more!

Again, you don't actually need 130 Ability Haste. You only need around 110 Ability Haste like shown in the build above. I only used 130 Ability Haste so the combo will look smooth in the video.

However, for dueling, instead of spamming long E + AA, you better spam the 2 auto + E combo to maximize damage.

Permaspin 3 can be pretty good due to the immense Ability Haste it brings, but the itemization is not so flexible. You're basically locked into building AH Mythics like Trinity Force, Goredrinker, and Duskblade. Plus you are forced to build more AH items once you reach 60% Critical Rate.

Mathematics?

Next, to the ultimate question...

Hmmm... Now that we have 3 nice permaspin concepts, what about doing long E dash, dealing 1 critical attack to ANY UNITS and recover E cooldown?

Turns out this is pretty hard. But according to all the known laws of Aviation, Mathematics, Science, and League of Legends, we can also make it happen! Here's how: Duskblade of Draktharr, Ravenous Hydra, Navori Quickblades, Essence Reaver, Black Cleaver, Vigilant Wardstone.

Compared to the other items I 'tried' (aka calculated) this is Tryndamere's most effective 1 hit 1 E item combination. The build I shown you above gives you 182.56 Ability Haste and up to 80% Critical Rate (not even 100%). Might be good, but it's pretty troll. Try it for fun.

Mathematics?
Since we're talking about permaspin in season 11 and forth, what about...

Permaspin on Past Seasons?

People miss the old seasons. Back then, everything was much simpler. When Ability Haste was still CDR. When Riven doesn't have 177013 dashes on 150 Ability Haste. When builds aren't as bursty as it is today. Whem Divine Sunderer doesn't exist and overpower many bruiser mythic choices. When Rengar doesn't oneshot ADC. (nah, he always oneshot ADC lmao)

And most importantly, we can do Permaspin 1 combo before season 11 (when AH is introduced), and it's not hard! Max E, build at least 35% Cooldown Reduction, long dash, land 2 consecutive crits on a single enemy. Sadly, you can't do the other combos.

More About Me

If you want to add me in game... no, you don't. I don't even connect my account to Mobafire. And even if I'm online, when you ask me to play vs people, I'll usually refuse.

Sometimes, I also post on my blog. Indefinitely.

And... that's it for the guide! Hope this guide helps you in having fun and finding some variations on Tryndamere builds.

Don't forget! Press R not to die, you beautiful Tryndamere players! Ciao ^w^!
