Hello I am currently a silver ranked summoner in the NA server. This is my first guide and I decided to start making guides because I really liked playing Aatrox after the first day. This is my Aatrox guide that I will continue to update as i find better ways to build him. But currently this is a really good build, and I am having good games with him. Feel free to leave any suggestions, and I will deeply consider them, and apply changes to my guide. If I left something out that you would like to know about just let me know and I will fix it. For runes I like to use the ones that the guide shows which gives you a lot of opportunity to get that first kill in lane. But if you are looking for even more sustain you can go with 3 life steal quints. Or 2 life steal quints and a Attack Damage quint. For marks, you can either go the attack damage marks like I posted in this guide or you can do attack speed marks. I like the attack damage marks.

For masteries I perfer the 9-21 masteries because I like to be more tanky, but the 21-9 will work if you want more damage.

As for these items I was aiming toward a tanky dps build. And so far it has worked well for me.

I choose to max my w first. I do this so I will have more sustain in lane and (alot of damage if toggled), but I mainly do this for the sustain. Even in team fights if your focused you can survive longer. Which in turn will give your team more of a chance to finish them off.

Flash is very useful, but it is really up to you because you could go with barrier which would almost guarntee you a kill early game or maybe an exhaust for when the jungle comes to gank. There is also ghost, but ghost can be countered by a slow by the enemy team.

Pros:

Tons of sustain.

Good at pushing a lane with his E.

His E is an AOE slow.

he has a jump which can be used to get away or knock someone up.


Cons:

His abilities cost health which can be deadly if you have the wrong W toggled.

His knock up isn't reliable because you have to land it in the circle.

He is most likely going to get a nerf.

I have been having some success with building a hydra instead of the blood thirster. I like the blood thirster more, but hydra works well also.

There will be many more updates to this guide as I find out which items proves to be more of a success. What sets my guide apart from many other guides is the idea most people are going to do alot of damage, but I perfect to be a tank when I am in the top lane. This is exactly what my guide does. I am going to experiment with more item variations today, so look forward to a new update by the end of the day. If I do not update today 6/17/2013, look forward to an update tomorrow.
