Introduction

Hello!

My IGN is Acaellum on NA, and Ive been a Shaco main since Season 3.

So far this season AP Shaco jungle as almost single handily carried me from silver 4 to gold, and Im hoping to get to Plat before long.

Its worth noting that AD and Bruiser Shaco are still very much viable, but AP Jungle Shaco is in the best place its ever been. Ive gotten a few requests to make a guide since this seems to be an uncommon way to build Shaco.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

* Insane burst damage from invisibility.

* Great zone control

* Easy solo of dragons/Herald

Cons:

* Squishy

* If anything in the game goes wrong it will be your fault for playing Shaco (doubly true since you have an uncommon build).

* Not much DPS if caught away from boxes.

* Weak against teams with a lot of cc heavy tanks.

Start of game

Look at the lane match ups. Which seems like the most vulnerable at level 1?

Start on that side of the jungle (start red if its mid or an enemy jungler who needs blue)

If starting red side, just put down 3 boxes at red (starting at 0:40). If your laner on that side can take golems, put down a 4th box at red and smite big golem for them, otherwise just place down 4th box at red at 1:38, clear red and go to whomever you targeted.

If starting blue side, put down 2 boxes at gromp, 2 in front of blue (but far enough away that they wont go off right away) then start gromp. Kite blue into the boxes and place a 3rd one when you can. This is your standard start.

Early game

Camp the hell out of a lane you want to snowball/shut down (mid and top usually easiest).

When a gank isnt available, counter jungle them. If the enemy jungler shows on the map somewhere, this is the perfect time to go take his camps.

Mid game

Solo the first drag.

Start leaving boxes around for zone control. For example, 2nd dragon is spawning soon and you think they might, start putting boxes all around the jungle entrances near it. Your boxes hurt A LOT, and the fear is nice too.

Your standard combo will Gunblade+E to proc thunderlords (hopefully from behind).

Teamfights/Late game

Have boxes everywhere. Anyplace you need vision, you need a get away path, or place you think you can catch someone out.

You can 1 shot most squishies, so try to catch someone out before the fight starts.

After the frontlines clash, q in (stay invis) and drop your clone into the middle of the chaos, and walk out still invis. Usually clone will go off pretty quickly for 1K+ damage aoe, and soak up a lot of damage/ults for your team. Youre main goal is to try to 1shot their adc or any other squishy carry, while avoiding getting cc'd yourself. (CC = death)
