Hello guys,
I am cocu503, a fanatic Dutch League of Legends player that has used mobafire for a long time.
I wanted to do something back for the community, so that is why i started writing this Master Yi guide.
Master yi was my first champion to play. I loved to play him, mainly because i could get easy multi-kills with his ulti reset.
I hope i can help you with learning master yi and he might be your ticket out of ELO hell or your xp gainer if you are not lvl 30 yet.
In this guide i will focus mainly on jungle yi, but there will be a seperate chapter for top lane yi, as well as twisted treeline yi.

For runes i use flat AD marks, Flat armour seals, Magic resist glyphs and flat AD quints.
This helps me to do lots of damage early on, while still being quite sustainable versus the neutral creeps. This helps me to clear blue buff and wolves pretty quickly and than give an marvelous gank which will almost always result in first blood.

For masteries i choose 21-0-9.
Picking the basic AD masteries in offence, and choosing mana, movement speed and longer buff in utility.

For items i reccomand starting with a hunters machatte and five pods. I strongly advise you guys to buy a wriggle's lantern AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. This item gives you an enourmous chance of extreme damage output in the jungle, and less time in the jungle = more time for ganks. After wriggle's, first get your basic boots, and then you HAVE to get a bloodthirster. This gives you tons of damage, as well as insane sustainability. Furthermore if you get your bloodthirster early on, you will have more stacks late game. After bloodthirster you have a dessision to make. You can get more damage and clearing with ravenous hydra, or you can get sick attack speed and move through all units(very underestimated passive). I reccomand finishing up with an infinity edge. It is also possible to sell your wriglle's late game, and get a defensife item like F.E. guardians angle instead.

I reccomand flash and smite for jungling.
For top you can replace smite for ignite, exhaust and teleport. The rest is sh*t in my opinion.

Farming is REAAALY important. In low elo games farming is sometimes underestimated, but farming is way more important than everything else, especialy in the first 20 minuites. the easiest way to farm is just press your q on a minion and than slay them all, but if this does not work try to last hit.

In top lane and twisted treeline, play master yi as an ad assasin. Just be annoying and poke your enemies as much as possible. Do not overextend but do try to get them out of lane and deny their farm.
