Akali, Fist of Shadow

Storyline

There exists an ancient order originating in the Ionian Isles dedicated to the preservation of balance. Order, chaos, light, darkness - all things must exist in perfect harmony for such is the way of the universe. This order is known as the Kinkou and it employs a triumvirate of shadow warriors to uphold its causes in the world. Akali is one of these shadow warriors, entrusted with the sacred duty of Pruning the Tree - eliminating those who threaten the equilibrium of Valoran.

A prodigal martial artist, Akali began training with her mother as soon as she could make a fist. Her mother's discipline was relentless and unforgiving, but predicated on the fundamental principle: ''We do that which must be done.'' When the Kinkou inducted her into the order at the age of fourteen, she could slice a dangling chain with a chop of her hand. There was no question - she would succeed her mother as the Fist of Shadow. She has had to do much in this role which others might find morally questionable, but to her it is in service of her mother's inviolable doctrine. She now works with her fellows Shen and Kennen to enforce the balance of Valoran. This hallowed pursuit has unsurprisingly led the triumvirate to the Fields of Justice.

The Fist of Shadow strikes from the cover of death itself. Do not impede the balance.

Goal of the build :

You will tell me "Akali's main damage output comes from AP, its stupid not to build her AP with some AD for passive !!". I will say you : yes, AP builds have a great Damage output with skills, but once they used their burst, they just have to run away because Regular Hit deals poor damages. With an hybrid build, in endgame (endgame is about 30 minutes with Akali, time where you should have finished the build) you deal around 700 damage per hit. Add this with the Trinity boost and the Mark. You deal about 1600 damage just with the mark. The trinity being boosted, damage are upped to 150%, which is awesome. Seriously, in every game, i find myself doing as much damage as AP builds, if it's not more. Plus, i don't feel the need of a Rylai's Scepter, because i don't need any chasing abilities. The snare from skill 2 is enough for me, as i can kill a tank within 3 seconds. Why wasting money on snare if the target doesn't have the time to run away ... Well ! My build on Akali is my way of playing her, unless you tell me it's bad and i pick wrong items, try it !

Here are some maths about Trinity/Lich Bane for those who still think Lich Bane would be better in this build:

Trinity = +130% of AD ; Lich Bane = +100% of AP
Endgame AD : 320 ; Endgame AP : 310
=> 130% of AD = 1.30x320 = 416 ; 100% of AP = 1.00x310 = 310
Trinity adds me 106 damage over the Lich Bane. Now we'll consider the cooldowns.
Trinity = 2 secs CD ; Lich Bane = 3 secs CD
We consider it ticks as soon as it's up. Within 30 seconds, Trinity ticks 15 times and Lich Bane 10 times.
=> Trinity : 15x416 = 6240 ; Lich : 10x320 = 3200
In 30 seconds, the Trinity Force deals 3040 damage more than the Lich Bane. That's why I chose it over the AP one.

Item build - Step by step
    Start with a
Long Sword (+ a Health Potion if you feel the need to) [445g]
Come back in base to buy the Sheen, your first Burst [1260g] item -8 minutes-
2nd base to buy Mejai's Soulstealer[1235g] -12 minutes-
3d recall for Sword of the Occult[1354g] -15 minutes-
4d recall for Boots of Swiftness [1000g] -18/20 minutes-

6th and last recall to get Hextech Gunblade [3825g] -30/35 minutes-

=> Total cost of 13719g

If you don't like playing with a Mejai or an Occult, you can skip them and get a Rylai and a Bloodthirster after the Gunblade.

Gameplay of Akali

Early Game

Everything depends of your laning opponents. There are two cases in which last hitting creeps is a priority.
- In the first case, your opponent(s) can be easily harassed without harassing you back. If this happens, go melee on creeps and last it them with regular attacks. Whenever an opponent come near, throw your Assassin's Mark on him, then either he go back, either he come to you and you just have to auto attack him so you activate the mark.
- In the second case, opponent's harassing ability is higher than yours (Vladimir, Kassadin ...) or the ennemy is a tank with HP Regeneration item. In that case, stay i little behind your minions so you don't get harassed and get every single last hit you can take with Mark.

Mid game

This is where the harmful rape begins. You should already have bought the Trinity Force and the Boots of Swiftness so you have a nice burst combo. At Lv11, you can easily gank lonely people and help in the first teamfights. Get your snowball items (Mejai and Occult) as soon as possible so you can start charging them early and try to max them before end game. The mid game should end when you get Guinsoo's Raging Blade.

End game

You almost or already have Mejai and Occult maxed, soon you'll get your Hextech Gunblade. Just run in teamfights, score an ace (with penta-kill, please!), push, and do it again until you win. This shouldn't be a problem with your huge damage burst that gives you back some pretty shiny HP (well, a load of HP actually). Just don't die so you don't have to charge Snowball Items again ...

Skill combos

Early game : Mark - (Ulti) - Attack - Kamas - Mark - Attack
Mid/Late game : Ulti - Attack - Mark - Attack - Kamas - Attack - Mark, Ulti, Attack, Kamas ... everything you have (don't forget active effect of Gunblade!)
Just make sure Sheen / Trinity Force tick after every skill you use. With their late boost, it's just deadly. Use skill W to snare running away / chasing enemies, save ulti charges for the right time. You shouldn't have any problem to catch ennemies, with Boots of swiftness + Trinity, you already have 455 speed, add the bonus from maxed occult and the ghost if needed.

Enjoy playing with Akalove!!
