Introduction

Hello, and welcome to my Alistar guide.

This guide is not the only way Alistar can be played, but I feel like every time I use this build, I do well. Now, to summarize Ali in 3 words; disruptive, annoying, tanky. These are his character traits, and that's why he is my favorite support. Throughout this guide, I will attempt to explain how to do well as Ali, which in reality, is fairly simple.

Ali Basics

Besides being a support, there are several other things you need to keep in mind when playing Ali. First off, he has a very unique skill-set, that makes him probably one of the most aggressive supports in the game. Ali's role (besides supporting) is to position an enemy champion in a spot, lock them down, as your ADC is auto-attacking them to death. I lied. Your ADC can use skills, auto-attacking to death isn't mandatory.

Signature Moves

If you've never played against an Alistar, then you probably don't know his combo(s).The simplest version is to Pulverize (Q, which knocks up) walk around the enemy, and Headbutt (W, which knocks them towards the direction you're facing) for your team to pick up the kill. This combo, however, is very situational, because you need to be near the enemy unit to knock them up. Here comes the second version of this combo. In this version you Headbutt (W) and the millisecond you hit the enemy unit, you Pulverize (Q). This combo is a little harder to land, because you need to be very quick, but with practice it will get easier. If you land this version of the combo, it guarantees you'll have an easier time killing the enemy champion.

Remaining Skills

The skills I haven't yet covered are his Trample (passive), Triumphant Roar (E), and of course, his Unbreakable Will (R). His passive, Trample, removes unit collision, and makes him deal damage plus a percentage of his ability power, to nearby enemy units and structures, per second. His Triumphant Roar (E) is an AOE heal, that scales with AP. It heals surrounding ally units for half the HP. Every time a nearby enemy unit dies, the cooldown is reduced by 2 seconds, and keep in mind, the cooldown is 12 seconds. His ultimate ability, his Unbreakable Will, is one of the strongest Ults in the game (at least in my opinion) because it removes all CC (crowd-control effects such as stuns, slows etc.) reduces all damage taken by 50/60/70 percent, and it gives him a large amount of attack damage.
