Introduction
That being said, there are some ideas I don't agree with completely, thus the reason I'm making my own guide. Over all I'm not going to go in to that much detail. It's more like I'm going to be explaining my reasoning for the difference between my build and the one done by Aquilegia.
The thing I have to say about this is that I ignore armor completely. This wouldn't change even if I'm in a loosing game or not. The reason for this is Rivens "E" Valor. Sense it scales off AD, I play a completely offensive item build, letting the shield take big hits for me. Also things to note about the items is 1. my items are where i get my armor pen, and 2. they are a NOT the only place I get sustain.
This is were I change it up the most from Aquilegia build. Instead of going for armor pen with Sunder, I look for sustain with higher health regeneration, more max health and a little more armor and magic resistance. Its a little risky, relying on items more for you big game plays, but It provides a little bit better build up, and sustain early and mid game.
The biggest difference between me and Aquilegia (besides the fact that there way better than i am) is that I don't see Riven tanky at all. Shes not squishy but I think of her more as a one man wrecking ball. In a team fight she is a bit more venerable, but the damage out put is also a lot more.
The best way to pull this build off is to get the early lane dominance with the help of your jungler. Once she has though, it's pretty hard to take away. When you have lane dominance don't worry about killing the enemy all the time, only go in with you jungler and avoid getting shut down!! her items build is really important so avoid risks and focus CC. once you have you second or third item Riven is ready to go for some serious damage.
I don't play to aggressive early game, just enough to keep the enemy CC under mine. When it comes to early ganks, I let the jungler have the kill, unless that is not possible. Because I trade early game potential for mid/late I avoid getting aggressive (or getting fed, increasing the risk for enemy jungler to camp top lane) until about level 10.
