Champion Build Guide

AP BARD MID/APC/TOP (Because why not)

By Klastos
Introduction
Hello! So you want to play AP Bard huh? Well this is the perfect guide for you. Although there are many support champions out there that can go AP mid better than bard. Bard is just so friendly and fun to play and he can even carry hard if you play your cards right.

This guide is just a quick guide to get you started, I wont go into too much detail like the other guides out there but if many of you are interested, I wouldn't mind doing so.
Start of the game
Bard has a very important early game. When you spawn you have to get going and not just sit at fountain.

On spawn, buy your items and head straight to the little gap at base between mid inhibitor turret and bot inhibitor turret. As you stand near there, 2 chimes should spawn near you around your bot jungle. Collect those and proceed to midlane. (For Red side, I would suggest waiting in the bush near mid, river and blue to provide vision for your team in case there is an enemy invade.)
Laning
When laning, try to learn how much damage Bard's auto attack does because this is essential in getting cs. Try focusing on poking when you have meeps and then auto attack minions; try your best to last hit. When you get level 2, try placing your W behind you (Where you think you'll run to if you get ganked.) This will help you have sustain in lane.
Roaming
Roaming is always a situational thing and it all comes down to whats happening. Here are some things I look for when i'm trying to roam.
If you have Lane Pressure (winning lane and minions are pushed up)
If anyone needs help in the river
    Easy kills bot or top
    Helping jungle invade

If some of these things listed above is happening, that would be an indication to roam.
CHIMES
Chimes are a BIG part of bards damage so collecting them is essential to do good. But the question is, when do I go to collect them? I usually average about 60-100 chimes per game so I know a thing or two about collecting chimes.

If you check your passive and also above your hud, it tells you how many chimes you have collected and how many more chimes you need to get an upgrade. Looking at this is important as it can help you decide whether or not you should collect chimes.

Usually, you want to collect a bunch of chimes at once as it is not worth going from mid all the way to top to collect one chime. The only exception is if your 1 chime away and there are no other chimes close or if you can get a kill top lane while you go collect the chime.

Usually, if you're winning lane or have lane pressure. That would be a time to collect chimes. Just make sure your opponent doesn't catch up to you by letting him free farm.
Conclusion
Thanks for taking the time to read my Bard guide and I enjoyed taking the time to make it. I hope you enjoy playing Bard as much as I do and hopefully you learned something and get some easy wins with this guide. ;D
