If you are in a solo lane [Take it if you can] starting off with death caress instead of cryptic gaze has saved me countless of times more then gaze.

In a 2v2/2v1 lane a stun can help you and partner kill and get f.b.

Tactics -
5v5 No matter what it looks like, it is not the best idea for you to initiate and risk getting hit by CC

2v2 Don't be scared, You can shut one down quick while the other one comes closer to try to save and gets hit hard.
