Mastery Tree Is Outdated
WARNING: These masteries are still using the old tree and have not been updated to the new tree by the guide author. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Hey guyz. I am an old dota and hon player and I have been playing lol for 6 months for now. I want to share my best champ's build with you.
is an AP beast and I will show you my way of dominating games. I hope you like it.
Pros / Cons
Great lane sustenance
Can change fight positions
Easy to push lanes
Hard to land barrels
AP = Ability Power
MPen = Magic Penetration
CDR = Cooldown Reduction
HP = Health
AoE = Area of Effect
CS = creep score
MR = Magic Ressist
Greater Mark of Insight
Since all of Gragas' skills give magic damage, MPen runes will you help you to give damage as if they have no MR. If you build your items as I show you, even tanks and off tanks cant stand against you. + + 9x = 28.55 MPen and believe me you will kill them all.
Greater Seal of Force
With these seals, you will have opportunity to give high damage in early game. Gragas has already high damage and if you boost it with flat AP runes, taking first blood is inevitable.
+ + will be enough to hurt someone by level 5.
Why don't I use tanking or hp seals? Because Gragas already has up to %18 damage reduction with Drunken Rage and your Barrel Roll has enough range to harras enemies without taking any damage.
Greater Glyph of Focus
These runes are key to my item build and play style. With blue buff + + you can spam your skills and give tons of damage to your enemies. No one can catch you with 4 secs Body Slam (free flash) and no one can run away from you.
Greater Quintessence of Potency
These quints serve for the same purpose as Greater Seal of Force. +15 AP at the very beginning of game? AMAZING. Also it will effect the passive bonus of Rabaddon's DeathcapRabaddon's Deathcap.
Don't forget, runes effect early game a lot. If you rock your lane, you will rule the game.
Since you can travel around with Body Slam, Flash makes it almost impossible to get ganked by others. Also you can use it to catch anyone, Flash over the minions and Body Slam baaaam there is no escape..
Ignite is a powerfull spell for finishing of those who try to escape Gragas, or for keeping those high selfhealing champs easier too bring down.
You can also use Ghost instead of Flash but since you have Body Slam, Ghost wont be very usefull.
DONT USE Clarity.. You really dont need it. You will have enough MRegen with this item build and Drunken Rage. Dont waste one of your summoner spell slots.
Exhaust, you can take it but hey! ignite will you help you to kill MORE.
My first priority is farming so I take Barrel Roll first and max it out by level 9. Since farming is priority I get Drunken Rage at level 2 and max it after barrel. I take Body Slam at level 3 and max it last, only use it for slowing or escaping. Dont forget you can use it over slim walls. With that build you can farm so easily.
Gragas' passive skill Happy Hour is one of the best passives in my opinnion. Restoring %2 of his maximum hp after casting spells.. That means dont use your skills one after other. Use your skills wisely: After sending out a barrel wait for your passive and use another skill. Ofcourse there are times where you have to spam skills once and for all but at least in laning phase watch out for this. Because it will really help you to stay in lane forever. Gragas doesnt go back to buy items, enemy team sends Gragas to buy items ( I mean you wont go back to base unless you get ganked ^^ )
Make sure your Druenken Rage is always active. Because it will give you armor (I mean %18 damage reduction] and extra melee damage. If you master your Barrel Roll, use it first to harrass your enemy. If you are not good with your barrels yet, hit your enemy with Body Slam, and use your barrel after slowing them. But dont forget getting close to them give them opportunity kill you. So, you better use your barrels from a long distance. After hitting enemy 2 or 3 times with your Barrel Roll, use your Body Slam to slow your enemy and send out another barrel. Finish them with your ulti. If you sense that this combo wont kill your enemy, burn your enemy with ignite.
When you get your Deathfire Grasp, use it when they have full hp to give maximum damage with it. And do the same combo again.
For pro player like me ^^ there is a more fun way to kill them. It is more likely a cat playing with its prey. Put your barrel to a random place (make your enemy think you missed them) and at that point toss Explosive Cask to fly your enemy to your randomly placed barrel and blow it up. Slow them with Body Slam and use your Barrel Roll again to finish them off. When I successfully do that, I dont even care if i got killed or lose the game. :D
Gragas is one of the best farmers among the champions. All you have to do is toss a barrel in the middle of the enemy wave and there you go, you are rich ^^ By level 9 and with 2
Doran's Rings you can kill a creep wave just wih one Barrel Roll. But you have to asist your barrel with body slam before reaching level 9. Your cs should be over 125 by 25 min. It is so easy as long as you know what you re doing. Drunken Rage must be on all the time, dont ever forget it. Also try to hit your enemy with your barrels while killing minnions. But again your priority is to kill creeps.
Make sure not to push your lane so hard. Because enemy jungler will have an eye on you all the time. Use wards to avoid possible ganks.
I start with Doran's Ring despite of other Fragas players who starts with boots and pots. The reason why I buy Doran's Ring first is to boost my ability power and mana regen. As I told you before, my priority is farming. As soon as I get enough money to buy boots and 1 more Doran's Ring or 2, I go back base to buy them and start farming for real. By level 9 you can kill creep waves with 1 barrel and you can even kill your oppennentz just with a skill combo ( squishy ones). After 3 Doran's Ring I upgrade my boots to Sorcerer's Shoes and get Hextech Revolver, with this way you can keep your hp high all the time. Also I always buy Elixir of Brilliance with my extra gold all the time. It gives CDR and AP ( what else can you want ^^ ). Finally you can start building real AP items. Since you farm very easily, you can get Rabadon's Deathcap in no time and enjoy the damage you give. Your single barrel will take down %35 40 and even 50 of their hp. Believe me it makes you feel great =). After completing WoTA and Void staff, I buy Deathfire Grasp. Because it is not only giving CDR also you can get down a target in 2 secs with it. Throw your barrel, use DFG before detonating your barrel and finish with your ulti after detonating your barrel. Believe me it works everytime. Even tanky ones dont understand whats happening to them. And as your last item you need Zhonya's Hourglass. If you ask why, your enemies will start locking on you in team fights after they see what you do to them. At this situation you need to survive an attack of 5 enemies. And this is where Zhonya's Hourglass takes place. Your team will finish of 1 or 2 of them while your Zhonya is active. Therefore, you will get an opportunity to use your skills again. You can run away with Body Slam or get a kill with it. Zhonya will give you enough time to renew your skills.
You can start a fight or you can finish it. However whatever happens, you have to stay alive. Because you are the AP carry of your team with this build. You have to give damage as much as possible. So, dont intiate first unless you catch an opportunity to get a free kill. What does a free kill mean in this situation? Well, you can seperate enemeis from their teams with your ulti but dont forget, your ulti gives massive damage in team fights. So, be very carreful when using it on a single target. Believe me you dont want to waste your ulti just before a possible team fight.
Spam your body slam in team fights. Body slam will slow your enemies movement speed and will asist your AOE damage. With blue buff and int potion, you can cast body slam in every 5 secs. And with cdr runes it is almost 4 secs. That means you can beat the hell out of them.
I kept it short as much as possible because I know most of you are too lazy to read a whole guide =). This is my first guide and I dont know how to put skills and items while writing them in chapters. So this is not a fancy guide, sorry =(. I hope you enjoy it.
