Introduction
He can make game-changing plays with good execution and win teamfights, and I'm here to show you how :)
When laning early, try to get as much cs as possible. If your opponent is aggressive and dealing good amounts of damage to you, farm under turret and your passive will restore your health.
If you are against another tank, cs is the way to out-perform against them. Aim your attacks at them when you are attacking minions with your vorpal spikes to get a little poke of and an unnoticable edge when they engage.
If they do engage, and they will probably win, Rupture them up and run like the wind to your turret.
Junglers will normally not focus you in ganks because you aren't a "threat". Ward up the bushes and maybe even purchase a Vision Ward to prevent you being shut down early in ganks.
If your adversary randomly engages, Usain Bolt the hell out of there because 80% of the time there is a gank coming your way.

This is the most important part about Cho'gath.
CS is what makes Cho'gath an excellent pick because of not only his ability to tank, but sustain because of his passive. The goal is to have around 100 Creep Score at around 13-16 minutes. If you do not, you will soon or have already fallen behind.
When farming minions just like any other champion, last hit. Placing your Vorpal Spikes when farming can be an edge to farming and engages adding extra damage to the other top laner and pick up even MORE minions.
Do not risk any part of damage in laning (unless if you are under complete control) for a couple minions. His passive is imperative to survival.

Get your ult stacked up to 6 as fast as possible. Combine that with Armor/Magic Resist and you will pretty much be able to manhandle a normal matchup. Another reminder again is to use your Vorpal Spikes as a little poke.
If they do engage or are low on health and not recalling, Rupture - Feral Scream - Feast for an easy kill. Make sure you have enough mana to be able to deal that type of damage. Requesting the blue buff should give you no problem at these attempts.
When engaged 1v1, you should be able to win with the defenses built up against your opponent.
When engaged 1v2, normally run, but if your top-lane opponent is low and in reach, use your ultimate to secure a kill and then run.
When engaged 1v2 with both full health, you know the drill. RUN. If you have been dominating your lane, you can possibly grab a risky double kill.

When you are Cho'gath your role is to simply soak up the damage for your team.
You can engage with your Rupture to start a teamfight, but make sure there is enough teammates to support your engage as Cho'gath can be caught extremely easy.
Split-Pushing is one of Cho'gath's key components of himself. His teleport makes it convienent to clear out minion wave and you save towers with ease from wave pushes.
If you are in a heavy teamfight that has more than 2 members of the other team, try to land a Feral Scream on all of them to cripple them for a short period of time.
If you are under 1k health, recall as soon as possible. When you're normally capped at around 3k-5k health, you want to be able to absorb as much damage as possible.
If you have any other suggestions let me know!

Rupturing is the deal-breaker.
His rupture can help you run and chase if landed correctly and can secure your team and extra couple of kills. Cho'gath excells at chasing in the jungle because you can slow them down over walls and prevent the opponent player from getting away and Vice-Versa when running.
Using his Feral Scream can turn the tides of the game in an instant. If you land multiple players, and with a smart team it's an easy win. If you miss, it puts you at a more slight disadvantage in teamfights, but with a low cooldown you can still be an impact.
Feast is a great way to clean up, or add extra damage. AND if you don't have all six stacks you get a nice Health Bonus!
