I'm not writing an introduction, it's pretty obvious he's a pirate that's a strong pick top lane/jungle.

These can be changed to 9/21/0, or anything basically just requires some initiave.
defense masteries: when you need to be tank, or your scared of the lane your vsing.
offense: my regular, gives me some form of lane dominance.
utility: don't have more than 9 in here at any one time. ( buff duration+ mana regen) only thing here that really rips on gp.

This is where i was confused. BUILDS ARE ALWAYS SITUATIONAL, there are core items ( atmas/warmogs) but the rest is situational.

starting items:

Start cloth 5 vs ad's ( pretty basic)
Start boots vs ****s like kennen and nidalee
Start dorans if your vsing a complete dropkick that counter picked himself.
Mantle/2 pot can be started, but i tend not to start this unless i feel i'm going to have a hard time dealing with harras.

JUSTIFCATION OF PHAGE: awesome item on you, builds into triforce later ( can skip this depending on how games going, if your underfed and farmed skip it)

Mid game:

You want to have a wriggles, and a phage working on your atmas impaler.
Ofcourse i stress this is situational ( they have 3 ap with a 0/4 graves on 31 cs?) rush a force of nature.

the above build is a nice late game build, if you ever get that far.


Sure a wriggles is awesome top lane, but if your absolutely smashing top lane, skip wriggles and go straight to a triforce so you can capatalise on your feed, and really render their top useless.( an early sheen acheives similiar results)

2. If you start feeding , and you're having a terrible game don't be afraid to go 4 dorans blades, it's better than nothing, and hopefully you can comeback from your deficit.

3. Avarice blade- Beast item that's completely viable on gp, i generally don't get it, but if the game is turning into a huge teamfight fest, with little time in lane you'll need it.

4. Zeal rush- Not really as good as other items, i like it on jungle gp but on solo top gp i think it's less effective unless you REALLY want to smash down a beating on a farming nasus.

5. Infinity edge: AMAZING item on him, but only if you want the extra damage, if you don't build phage this is your late game item ( even early if you feel you need to smash him)

TLDR: situational, don't go squishy cuz u die.

Gp is a fairly strong pick if you don't know the enemys top lane.
He is not as easily countered as alot of other champions.

If you are counter picked you need to know how to play it ( adapt).

Vsing a yorick? you're gonna need a wriggles, just farm and laugh as he does nothing in fights.

Vsing a riven? this is a fairly close lane, but goes in riven's favour after 6. Just q spam him constantly, and once he hits 6 you're gonna have to farm the rest of lane phase or until jungler ganks.

Vsing a pantheon? most overrated counter to gp evar. Sure his passive can be annoying at times, but keep spamming q's and he'll get out of lane pretty fast.

Vsing an udyr? Swear, and watch him troll around tanking your q's. This is now a farm lane, feel free to max oranges.

Many other counters, but i can't be bothered listing em now.

Pros / Cons

Lol damage
Lol q spams
Awesome global that secures countless kills, minion waves, even stealing dragons and barons if funny.
cleanse on low cd (op)
has amazing utility
one of the best passives in the game


da squish early game
REALLY farm dependant ( hog, avarice, philo stone needed if you arent farming)
ap's hurt you hard.
with this build, armor reduces your damage substantially.

Nothing special, q is useful in farming stage. If you're getting pushed to your turret and need to farm under it maxing e is your best friend.

Team Work

Your job in teamfights is to position your ulti to hit as many people as possible, and being a secondary tank whilst still doing insane damage.
You're GP, q that ad carry for the slow, and start smashing on him.
Unless your team are squishy, you should be in straight after your tank ( malphite, whatever)
If they are squishy ignore this build and go full tank.

Summoner Spells

Basically i always run flash/teleport.
But in solo que, it's often better to have lane dominance so you can smash home lane dominance and help other lanes, this is where ignite/exhaust come in handy.

HEAL ( kinda, but not as good as others, can 1v1 champions easier)
IGNITE ( always a good pick, especially against mundo)
exhaust ( epic for 1v1s, does alot more late game than ignite)
Flash ( this is obvious, and is usually the standard, can be used for everything you want)
Ghost ( not really needed, you have an e and there are better alternatives)
Surge ( pretty iffy, but not a complete troll, you'll be hurtting them hard with this)
