so the reason for going jg shen is how fun it is XD , but in good hands shen is instopable ,he can easylly gank using his ult and his cc "E" he can clear camps fast and still be healthy with using of his "Q+W", sience he use energi he can spam these . i recommend you to watch a shen jg youtube vid in case you really want to learn , try also the itens in practice tool.

then back buy itens and ult kill someone , go mid kill their assasin and go farm more. there is a ballance between farming and ganking ,its verry inportant too gank and help your teamates but you also need to farm so your ganks become sucsseful and you can snowball .
