The jist of this build...
- Dont pointlessly rush bloodrazor -
Since it hardly makes a difference if you dont have any ASPD, kogs base damage with just W is pretty underrated, Q, E, W and then the occasional R takes people down pretty fast if they decide to try and fight you (kiting or chasing as neccesary)
- Mobility quints -
because kog is slow as hell (305 base), he needs all the help he can get, he doesnt have much survivability however so boots of swiftness are a little risky , getting movement quints let you get mercuries/ninja tabi
- 0/9/21 -
again with the survivability issues, ninja tabi and/or your dodge seals can and probably will save your life occasionally, optimally they shouldnt even be allowed to get that close but it happens and when it does, you need to get out asap.
- Lots of daggers and a malady first? -
A high attack speed will make your BAB (bioarcanebarrage) hurt alot, even without bloodrazor, the malady is nice midgame because of the extra 20 damage and the ability power to give your ult a little extra harassing power, the ult becomes pretty useless lategame so get the malady early when it can actually make a difference. Lategame malady is still useful for the MR shred.
- Boots first? -
This is where the title comes in, if you are a bad kogmaw, you will die. Lane properly and defensively at least until you get Lvl3/4 BAB and your ultimate, some harassing will keep the enemy by their tower (where you will harass them still), dont let your ult stack, you dont have the mana pool for it. The 3 health potions, unless you're having a really hard time, will keep you laning long enough to get recurve, if you fail this, get a dagger instead.
Remember to turn these into mercuries/ninja tabi depending on the other team makeup, if you're unsure mercuries are always a safe bet purely for the magic resist
- Zeal? -
Movement speed, for chasing with BAB and artilery (or escaping) , should bring you to approx 430ms. Also allows you to kite enemies chasing you with your ult with well placed shots and void ooze
- Flash and ghost -
Will save your life time and time again, gank incoming? a well timed and aimed flash followed straight away by ghost should get you out fine, void ooze behind you when you get enough distance just to be sure (make sure you're not in range of a taric/sion/malz stun if you go for the void ooze)
- Grab Madreds razors before Pickaxe -
By the time you get to this stage of the build (assuming you havent been fed a crazy amount), it will be team fight time, madreds lets you jungle pretty well with your high aspd so you can farm up the remaining 1k or so to get pickaxe/bloodrazor
- The TLDR -
Lots of daggers to max ASPD, Max W first, followed by Q (for aspd) , should get bloodrazor around 25 mins at which point you go from being a damage dealer to being a tank/squishy melter
Remember that kog is a carry, and as such is pretty terrible until at least level 6, and will only shine >lvl 13 or so
