Take W lvl 2 so you don't die to his hook. Ward and keep waves away from your tower to avoid dives. Stand in your wave and poke pre 6.
Thresh
Beware his flay if you try to auto attack. If he can lanterns out his ADC Q him. Taking W second is nice but you can go Q if you get the early lvl 2.
Alistar
Stand far back. Take W second. Try to let him go onto your ADC as you can CC the enemy carry from following up. Don't stand next to your ADC.
Pyke
Avoid Q watch out for his E dash in. Poke his ADC as his passive gives him regen. Don't clump with your AD and manage wave
Blitzcrank
A counter as old as time. Take E lvl 1 stand in the wave and poke hard. Do your best not to get hooked by helping your ADC push waves with E then backing off.
Olaf
He is immune to your CC but your W is nice against his all in.
Braum
Don't get hit by his Q and you are fine.
Xerath
Outranges/out damages you and has more mana regen. Try to poke him with E when he charges Q.
Vel'Koz
Does more damage with passive but your shield counters his ult in fights. Do your best to dodge the geometry.
Morgana
You out range her. Her shield is very high CD so youre fine. Late game you outperform her with your poke and sheild. Watch out for a lvl 6 flash. Its nice to have more points in E to pop her sheild so you can root and walk away. You should have an easier time landing Q than her
Karma
Don't stand near the wave for her splash damage. She will do more early and you out scale her heavily. You're basically a better Karma
Nami
Try to Q her when she goes for a W.
Janna
She dodges your Q easily. Save abilities for when she uses W to poke. Her sheild/R negates your burst hard.
Tristana
If she W's you you're dead. Save your Q for after she dashes in and get off all your abilities before you die.
Samira
Avoid the enemy CC and you're good. She can wind wall your Q so don't commit to fights unless it's down.
Akali
CC her as her shuriken dash animation goes off. Wait out shroud.
Katarina
Save your Q for when she ults in and avoid daggers. More about how your team/you position. Better to take guardian vrs
Sivir
Her spell shield blocks your Q. You can bait it out with E if you want to cc more than damage her.
Leona
Stand far back and let the wave get close but not crash into tower. W lvl 2. E her ADC to slow them from a follow up.
Annie
Annoying she has similar range and more damage but you have more utility. Late game your W max should negate her AOE tibbers stun
Nocturne
E then Q him to pop his spell shield when he jumps in. Don't push waves in
Pantheon
Just stand back and don't let wave crash for a dive. He'll out damage you at any point in lane. Long as you don't die you out scale. Warn your team if he roams. You can try to counter roam with your ulti range.
Bard
Early on Bard does more damage but you have more range
Soraka
Poke her down with E and avoid her Q. Try to follow up if your team dives her with an Ult
Seraphine
Don't clump to avoid her R bounce and you can do more than her. Her shield is pretty long cool down. If you Q her she is probably dead.
Miss Fortune
Try to back her into a wall to make it easier to land abilities. Starting with W AA into abilities gets rid of her move speed passive.
Yuumi
late game she will out heal your damage. You have better CC early. If you catch her with Q all in she is squish
Lulu
her sheild and auto passive will out damage you early. Same idea like Janna but you have much stronger CC
Shaco
Don't go into bush and W in the direction you're kiting away in.
Caitlyn
Easy to poke. try to Q when her W is down.
Tahm Kench
E has a high mana cost. Don't use it right after landing Q if he is next to his ADC so he can't devour them out of the dmg. A delayed E allows you to reengage. Play it slow and kite kite kite. He falls off
Jhin
Late game his passive makes him hard to land Q on. Only go for trades you're sure you win lvl 6 so his ult doesn't clean you up.
Zyra
You outrange but she does more damage. Watch out for her E

Does a lot more damage than you try to avoid the W. Warding bush helps
Swain
Avoid his E and you're fine. More tanky than you hard to all in.
Senna
She's going to do similar damage to you but have less burst for more sustain. Easy to catch out with Q when she autos
Varus
Poke and chain cc/setup with his r. With lethality Varus I would go Dark Harvest as you can secure kills off his poke with ult.

Imperial components give you a rather weaker lane phase, on top of an already weak early game. Because Lux is heavily based around being a poke/burst type of champion I find the extra magic pen helps you do more by yourself late game. Since you don't need an ally to proc the move speed it lets you poke safer without having to rely on your team to disengage. The extra ap also feeds your shield more.
Why Lux? 5 man shield procs
As support you can go more of a mix of enchantress/ap due to items like Staff of Flowing Water working really well for Lux. Staff was made for her as you can proc it on all 5 teammates(including you). Unlike other enchantress supports Lux has more pick potential allowing you to snowball/carry your team. Because of this she scales really well. All of her abilities have good ap scaling so in general mage items perform better on Lux later in the game.
Staff of flowing water is a cheap item giving you more damage and a better shield(her true strength as a support). Shield has a low cooldown maxed so you can almost always proc Staff. Try to Shield an ally before you do your combo so you both gain the extra AP on your burst.
I found Cosmic Drive feels really nice on Lux since her abilities tend to have long cooldowns. The extra move speed helps you kite/poke safely. Cosmic also lets you reach that 15s ult cdr. Because you're not building pure AP and maxing W I find the extra spam is more consistent than rushing say Rabadons. If you're just landing everything and one-shotting the enemy cause they're bad get the cap tho and max Q 2nd.
Why not comet?
You have no damage over time, and higher cooldowns. You don't proc comet consistently in fights. It's damage early and late is lower because of this. You are a poke/burst mage so burst heavy runes secure more kills.
Guardian would also give you better stats/scaling than comet damage from it's extra survivability.
