No boots wtf?

Well, it maybe looks kinda wired but trust me u don't need boots on GP. You get one extra item.
Until like u get Tri Force u gonna be kinda slow but after u buy Phantom Dancer it's gonna be fine.

Last two items

You gonna see which one you'll need. About Banshee's Veil, you can take Force of Nature instead, but i recommend the Banshee `coz it gives u health and blocks 1 spell. And if they don't really have some strong AD you can build Randuin's Omen or just buy Atma's Impaler instead of Thornmail.

Laning

Nothing special... It would be just nice to lane with some support. Best combination with GP would be Janna, her shield with bonus damage and ultimate that can pretty much save your *** :D
