Becoming Gallant

Garen does not need very much attack damage in his build because he starts with a decent amount. For a good late game Garen, you want to focus on his strengths. His passive is very unique and something you can play off of. If you simply play to character's natural built in advantages, you are doing exactly what you are supposed to do. Health and Health Regeneration are Garen's strengths. The obvious counter for this build is Magic damage dealt by percentage of health. Examples: Deathfire Grasp or Madred's Bloodrazor. Survivability is key. Also keep in mind you can chase an enemy down with your silence. It increases your movement speed, deals damage, and silences the enemy. Chase the enemy with your silence, combo them with your wheel, that when combined with the frozen mallet slows the enemy, and then finish them, when they are at low health, with your ultimate. You are not a tank. You are a tankyish melee fighter. By this I mean, you still need early feed. So remember that and make sure your team remembers it too.
