Graves Passive Ability
Introduction
Hello, this is LordChirpa and this is my first build ever. Graves was the first AD carry I played when I started to play. Graves is a slightly more difficult AD carry than usual, but with the right tactics can roll through the enemy team. He is a one of the most tanky AD carries in the game due to his passive True Grit that earns him armor and magic resist when in combat. He is the ultimate AD carry.
Pros
Cons
- Easy farming
- Smoke Screen has many uses.
- Quickdraw is an easy escape/chase
- Tanky
Cons
- short attack range
- No Crowd Control
- Slow movement speed
Runes for Graves have armor penetration to burst through any armor your enemies have and armor and magic resist for defense. If you want to build graves flat damage runes I would suggest keeping your passive True Grit up at all times possible for defense. You can substitute attack damage runes for armor penetration if you want more last hit power.
Heal and Flash are both there for if you need health instantly and if you need a way to teleport towards or from an opponent. Some alternatives are if you want crowd control get Exhaust to slow an enemies movement speed and attack speed and damage. Bad summoner spells for Graves can be Ignite and Surge because Ignite is not very useful except in 1v1 and if you can't finish kills off as if you are a AP carry. Surge is widely known to be of no use, it just doesn't give you enough to be worth it.
Graves abilities are widely known to poke hard and farm easily. His Q ability, Buckshot can tear through out of position teams and champions. It can be easily used to either take groups of low health minions or just engage a team fight. Graves W, Smoke Screen can be used to slow an enemy to chase or escape from, but can be of use when needed to ruin chances of skill shots or confuse the other team. His E, Quickdraw is probably one of the most useful abilities when it comes to dodging, escaping, or gaining massive attack speed while dashing to position yourself. When farming it can push your minions, boosting your attack speed to destroy turrets, and to catch up with running enemies. It can also be used to go through smaller walls in the jungle. His ultimate ability Collateral Damage deals massive damage to finish off an enemy or deal damage to the entire team with a cone of damage that is formed after impact. Most of the time people level up Buckshot first, but sometimes it can come to your advantage to level up Quickdraw can be used if you want more attack speed.
Starting with boots and potions gives you more mobility and more sustain while in lane. Doran's Blade gives you that extra attack damage, health, and life steal for more sustain in lane early game. Getting a Infinity Edge as your first big item will give you mass attack damage and 25% critical chance and its powerful unique passive. The Last Whisper is very important on Graves. It gives him that armor penetration that will demolish the enemy team. The Bloodthirster gives you some extra damage and life steal that will keep you from going back as often during late game. Guardian Angel gives you a good amount of armor and mageic resist, plus the amazing passive that revives you upon dying. This amazing item will make sure the AD carry stays alive if he is focused.
