Irelia is one of my favorite champions and she is always my go to when i want to win a game. This is the usual way i build her, but it changes every game. This guild is ment for getting through armor and sustaining during the lane phase of games. I hope you enjoy it and are willing to give it a shot.

These runes are designed to get through tanks with the armor pen and the magic resist/ armor runes are standard with all my tanky dps i play. I have realized that since she is so tanky and has built in tenacity, sometomes I run more armor pen seals and glyphs, but it is entirely up to you.

My masteries are ment to get through armor and be able to sustain. THe end mastery in the offensive tree is really not very useful for Irelia, because she always seems to be in her targets face and always has her target stunned or slowed.

The Philosiphers stone is a must, because as a top laner you are supposed to be there as much as you can farming, poking and preventing the opponents from farming. It gives gold per 5, health regen and mana regen, perfect for every game (this item is a must). Irela has built in Tenacity, so Mercury treads are usless on her, ninja tabi just give a little bonus armor and from what ive noticed, are the best boots for her. I usually build these core items in order, but as most people know, I change them every game to what comp we have or what opponents we are playing. Irelia is a very tanky champion, but she isnt as tanky early game against annoying top laners like singed or a Tank Jarvan IV, so i build reletively balanced because she is pretty bursty damage wise.

Ive realized, while playing Irelia that when in team fights alot of the damage comes from her True damage from the activation of Hiten Style, which is why i intrduced the Wits End. I have also noticed that sometimes when i dont have bush warded that i tend to get ganked alot, so that is another reason I get Hiten Style in order to stay in lane as much as I can. You may get Bladesurge maxed first if you are having trouble getting last hits, but only if you are not getting low all the time.

Ghost helps get places, i gives percent bonuses and stacks with force of nature and i have found it more helpful then flash because Irelia can already take alot of damage. If the enemy team wants me, they will stun, CC me and make sure i am dead; ghost is mainly for engageing and chasing. Irelia is a fighter and tanky dps, she is ment to stay in and fight. Ignite is great choice on Irelia, because it is another ranged attack besides her ult that can finish someome off, or you can put it on the focus (like an AD carry) and reduce heals buy 50% on that target.
