Zed is a hard to master assassin champion who executes the enemy backline in the matter off seconds using his extremely powerful Ultimate which repeats damage dealt in the past 3 seconds after the ultimate has been used. He is difficult to play due to only having 200 max energy and consuming a lot of it due to his high energy cost early. A player i started playing Zed because of was Faker. Play Video

A midlaner that can realistically always be played, unless you have an incredibly hard matchup. He can shred tanks, burst mages, deny bruisers and outdamage other assassins. Zed has a high reward outcome if mastering him since he can carry games flawlessly if played perfectly.

Take a long sword and 3 potions in 90% of your games.
Take a Dorans shield against champions like Akali due to immense poking.
Almost never take Dorans Blade since it doesnt really suit zeds playstyle and the longsword will get you the required Serrated Dirk much faster.
The main mythic items to go for are: Eclipse, Duskblade of Drakthaar and Prowlers Claw (Can be used if trying the longest Zed combo).

This is where Zed begins to shine, taking out enemies with a single R-E-Q combo and recasting R before they get the chance to hit him in return. If in fear of a stun cancelling you completely and getting you killed, place W behind you (not too far, if too far away from the shadow it cannot be recast), use your R-E-Q combo on them and recast back to your W to avoid any damage coming at you. With Zed you have immense damage, 2 escape tools (Flash, W), a Slow with W-E and recastable W and R moves. His shadows offer a creative playstyle allowing you to hit the enemy from all sorts of angles.

Incredibly powerful reaching 400 AD with the Right build and having around 44% Armor Penetration if built correctly. You can shred the tankiest of tanks, although you should focus their carries first. Many champions will outscale Zed but if damage from the enemy is avoided successfully you can win almost any fight.
