also worth mentioning:
with high cdr and high move speed, ludens seems pretty spammable and ap ww shouldnt be sitting around trading autos with someone anyway

rylais could be used to boost your hp plus a nice slow on your q which would be pretty effective for skirmishing.

gauntlet doesnt add a ton of ap, but it has 50, and it adds some armor survivability and cc to your build, as well as 500 mana.

Liandrys would add a good amount of spell pen while boosting your percent health damage versus tanks. useful if you find yourself in a tank heavy game. also worth mentioning it would get off some extra burn dps on ult targets though probly not much since you generally ult squishies. still you would get the double burn since they are movement impaired.

If you absolutely needed more survivability, moonflair spellblade would probly be a good choice since it gives some ap, armor, magic resist, and tenacity.

for mana sustain morellos is quite useful, giving somewhat more offensive stats and a situational passive along with 20% cdr.

I think thats all I can think of. none of this is meant to work together as a cohesive whole, just a lot of random brainstorms. i love the build keep working on it :)

I think you underestimated the power of lich bane on ult: when using ult, as you said it procs the 1 lich bane for the ult. By the time you have completed the ult though, its off cd meaning that when you go for the q after ult it procs again from that q, meaning that every ult actually gives you 2 procs, basically giving you an extra 1-1 ap scaling on your ult combos.
in addition it gives you some mana. always good on ww.
Finally, it gives you movespeed which is really good for getting away after an assasination.
not sure where it would go in your build order, but worth considering i think.

Well, if you reach a build of Athene's Unholy Grail, Sorcerer's Shoes, Lich Bane, Nashor's Tooth, Rabadon's Deathcap and Void Staff you will oneshot enemies. Lich Bane will if timed right proc twice on your ult+q+AA combo, making it very usefull on Warwick. Survivability + AP Warwick doesn't make sense at all, that is the chapter of on-hit lifesteal Warwick.

Getting of Q+AA is rather easy if you have Nashor's Tooth or Hunters Call active. And it is even easier with Blood Scent active. The movement speed on Lich Bane is also very usefull. I mean, you could get Luden's Tempest instead but that item is rather poor on Warwick as he has no spamable abilities and Lich Bane can be used for more focused burst.

You mean as a fighter who just uses his Q to outtrade? That actually sounds pretty nice, giving away some burst for more survivability and dot... maybe a bit against the whole "assassin" idea of this build, but that got nerfed pretty hard anyway with the removal of dfg.

Will try it in a few games and if it works as more of a fighter role (which im pretty sure it does) I'll add it as another build. Only problem is that many of the information explaining the playstyle of ap ww won't apply to that build, so I'll have to add another section for it and I rly don't want to do that until I have played that build enough to really know about it, so it might take some time.

My build for Warwick now is Athene's Unholy Grail -> Rabadon's Deathcap -> Void Staff. Athene's is jut too good for him for lane control, you should never not get that first, especially as Warwick has constantly mana problems, even with Rod of Ages. Athene's Unholy Grail is just superior here. With that item, you poke anyone out of lane easily. Later in the game it kinda depends on what you want to do. You seriously don't want to jump into them as long as they aren't locked down, Warwick just isn't tanky enough for that. Rather go full AP and kill the nearest target, doesn't matter if it is a tank (Q does % damage) or a squishy assassin (ult and he is gone). This will keep the enemies away from your ADC.

Ok, gave this guide a little update. Especially the death of dfg hit's ap ww hard.

The "good" thing is, since you only have 2 core items now, Nashor and Rabadons, you can be more flexible with your build.

@Wit's End: Thinking again, it sounds like a rly nice option. Totally forgot that mr-shred, sry Thoukka...
I took it in as dmg-option on every build. I don't think he needs it, but it is far from a bad idea picking it up in the right situation.

Also added a Jungle-Build. I didn't take Devourer cause I think you have too good gank potential for farming jungle most of the time, but that is just a personal preference and I think every single smite with any enchantment is pretty good on jungle ww. Maybe I wouldn't takje the ad one, but expect that, you can pick whatever you want there.

Haven't put in synergy with teammates, cause that is just a ****ton of work and I don't feel like im that experienced to know many comps well enough anyway, but maybe I'll give it a try if I find some nice combinations.

Hi,
First of all, i want to say that i love this kind of "out of the meta build".
Second, i found AP ww one of the strongest (with AP Tryndamere and AP Nasus maybe).

I did a Twisted Treeline game where i started the game with a 3 min dc ... sorry team.
BUT
With this awesome build, my ww was strong enought to shut down there carry and let our Jax ruin there life (with my W buff).

I think it's really important to add in your guide a "team compo" part.
AP ww has a low DPS but a high burst and he can buff AS of all his team, it's really important to have some AA champion with you as a jungler or a top like Jax, Xin, Noct ...

Great Guide! I sneakily converted your guide into the best Jungle Warwick I have ever seen. Like you guide says "If your jungler lets you have blue" Well I am the Jungler ;) I always have blue ;).

When I jungle I buy...
Sabre w/ Devourer ~ Sorcerer's Shoe's ~ Wits End ~ Nashor's ~ Void Staff ~ Abyssal

I Love how if someone has 100 Mr it translates to this...
100 -> 65 (FROM VOID) 65 -> 50 (WITH SORCERERS)
50 -> 30 (WITH ABYSSAL) 30 -> 5 (WITH WITS END) 5 -> -3 (WITH 9 MPEN MARKS)

And I read your previous comment about Wits End and I disagree.
You said it gives 10 more dmg on Ult but you didn't prefer it because of not scaling with your Q But remember it also gives you 50% attack speed + 30Mr + 25 Mpen (basically). Is + 120 AP on Q worth All that. But you might disagree because I don't have a Rabadon's in my build.

And with Warwick I love to kill my target quick and get out fast and I feel this works better.

So BY 30 min in I have
35% Magic Reduction + 68 Magic Pen
50-75 On hit magic damage with Devourer
15 + (34) On hit magic damage with Nashor's
45 on hit magic damage with Wits End
100 Basic Ad

Think about that damage lol......

Oh and 2.1 Attack speed ~ 2.5 Max attack speed with W

Yeah, the grail is one of those items witch I know are good, but I'm just too greedy for dmg on my spells so I don't think about cdr, mana and defensive stats^^
But now that I think about it, that fits great!

The cdr and ap should be great to trade with q and the mr should be also nice if you face ap enemies... And like you said, it helps on the mana problem ap ww has. Sounds rly great, maybe I should try rushing it and then don't take deathfire for an easier laning phase. (Since dfg also gives 10% cdr, you can still reach 40% with that, nashor and an elixier/blue buff)

Will add it as another item build for more safe games vs ap enemies, ty for the tip^^

E: #3 WW guide now, thx to whoever voted ;)
E2: Nvm, whoever voted took his vote back for some reason ^^'

Hello. I like the Warwick AP altho I never tried it on summoner's rift (I use it on ARAM and Twisted Treeline).

A item that I like building fast however is a item that isn't on your build which is Athene's Unholy Graal. I find it to be so good since it eliminate any mana problem, give me 20% CDR and a bit of AP.

I would like to hear what are your thoughts on the graal.
