Irelia, Siphoner of Souls

Introduction:

Hello, this is my build to a hybrid dps/lifesteal tank Irelia. This is my first build submission on Mobafire. I made this because I don't see a lot of people use a build like this and I would like to share! In this build, we try to take advantage of her lifesteal and true damage on Hiten style giving her survivability and high damage! This build can apply to both 3v3 and 5v5.

Summoner Spells:

I'm a big fan of Exhaust and ghost, because it helps me chase and gives me time to lifesteal. But anything can be used here

Runes:

I like to get Red Attack Speeds, Yellow Attack Speeds and Blue Cooldown reduction per level. 2 Attack speed and 1 Cooldown reduction per level quints or 3 Attack speed quintessences. Although attack speed runes are preferable (I HIGHLY recommend them if you are going to use this build), you don't have to use Attack speed runes, but then your dps value and lifesteal will be drastically reduced and it will be a bit difficult.

Items:

After you have 3 Doran's blades, boots of preference, stark's fervor and phantom dancer, you can proceed to sell each doran's blade 1 by 1, getting frozen mallet or infinity edge, then the last couple of items are anything you like, which include bloodthirster, phantom dancer, etc.

Laning phase (Early game 1-8):

Start with a Doran's blade and a health potion while taking Hiten style first, by level 3 you should have a point in your "Q", "W" and "E". Use Hiten style's active and Bladesurge to farm (your true damage will also apply to Bladesurge). Once you port back to base, get 2 more Doran's blades and berserker greaves. Great laning partners include anyone with a crowd control effect.

Mid game (Levels 9-13):

In any situation, don't hesitate to use your ultimate! Teamfights, try to stay away from the main cluster of enemies and fire your blades away, then activate Hiten style, dive using Bladesurge and use Equilibrium strike whenever possible. Don't worry about tanks, with your high attack speed and Hiten style, you'll be shredding them apart.

End game (Levels 14-18)

Be sure to jungle for gold often and grab any buffs possible, buy elixirs (Red and/or Green) to maximize survivability . Stay in the back of team fights to unleash your daggers then run in to do your damage with Hiten style. Sometimes, you'll be in situations where you can't run out, if that's the case, just hit anything you can At this point, I can easily heal myself from damage I take and walk out with at least 80% health in team fights . I have never gone past frozen mallet in any of my games with this build, but if I do i'll update the final items i guess, the last few items can include bloodthirster, more phantom dancers, infinity edge, etc.

Irelia is truly a great champ and very fun to play, with this build, you may or may not get kills, but your near immortal and can handle 2v1, in my last few games, I have gone 9/3/9, 10/1/6 (2v3 situation) and 6/0/13

If there is any improvements to this please let me know! Constructive criticism will help!
