I. Latest Information/updates

New Released champ =)

II. Abilities, Spells, Runes

I start by trying to max the abilities in this order

Ionian Fervor

Each nearby enemy champion (to a maximum of three) reduces the effectiveness of Crowd Control on Irelia. (10%/25%/40%)
This is an interesting passive. There are two real ways to use this passive. Either as a way of getting out, or staying in team battles. As I don't view Irelia as a champ that loves to stay in team battles I use it as a method of escape.

Blade Surge

My favorite ability on this champ. With golem buff I can hit this ability to 3 seconds, and great for farming. Low cooldowns allow her to jump in and catch up with enemies.
Irelia dashes forward to strike her target. If it kills the target, Bladesurge's cooldown refreshes and refunds 35 Mana. (1:1 AD ratio and scales 20/55/90/125/160)

Hiten Style

This ability is also pretty cool. You deal true damage, which would stack nicely with AS and her passive. The passive and the active can both be used at the same time.
Passive: Attacks restore (10/14/18/22/26 hp) per hit
Active: Physical attacks have an additional (15/30/45/60/75) true damage

Equilbrium Strike

This is like a perfect harassing tool, even though you are meele. After you launch your bladesurge, throw this down, and just run back. It's also nice for 1 v 1, because timed right you can stun and finish them with your abilities.
Irelia attacks balances the scales, dealing damage (80/135/190/245/300) and slowing (1/1.25/1/5/1.75/2) the target. However if the target has a higher health % than Irelia, then the blow stuns the target instead.

Transcendent Blades

Transcendent ability can activate without stopping. Which is nice if you are getting chased down, pop your ult and tell your char to very far along, (ie the nexus), and then shoot them with your blades for health regen (blade shoots where your pointer is)
Irelia summons 4 spirit blades which she can fling to deal magic damage and siphon life from enemies they pass through (CD 60/50/40) (Damage 80/130/180 with .4 per AP or .6 AD) All the extra scaling damage comes from items and buffs. It does not come from your base damage that you get as a char.

Overall thoughts

The base damage of Q is pretty low at level 1, but level 5 is pretty nice, but the most important aspect is the CD reduction. The ult is pretty UP in my opinion. The only way it becomes effective for 1 v 1, or if you dash into the back lines and hit their squishy people. Otherwise throwing it at tanks does nothing.

I pickand
Ghost has some good movement, which is great for ganking, and ignite to finish anyone that runs back to the tower.

Other Spell Choice

Spells maybe to consider

Spells not to get
Heal (you should have enough life steal from normal attack or spell vamp)
Clarity(Your spells are pretty low mana costing)
Revive (Unless you really want them to que dodge)
Rally (you are moving way too fast for this bonus to even really help you)
Clairvoyance (I love this spell and use it for Sona, but for this char not work it, let a support get this)
Fortify (This spell can work, if you Q->E champs that try to turett dive you, but it won't help you at higher levels, and this spell should be left for tanks)
Smite (you aren't gonna jungle and you Q spell will farm so effectively, you will forget to use it)

I go Armor Pen for my Marks and Quintessence.
I go dodge for seals, as it stacks nicely with the 21/9/0 build
I go CDR. These runes will give you some nice base attack speed, but I have lately considered some MR, MR/level, or AS (espically if you go the ghostblade)

III. Why I choose these Summoner spells, ability order, and Masteries

-Summoner Spells

This char was suppose to be a fast moving. You want to finish your opponents fast, and quick. You aren't one of those chars that is gonna carry by running in the middle. Imagine yourself as a yi, but girl form, and can jump to each other people. Anyways that aside, I pick ghost and ignite. I normally will pop ghost to get into the battle, and pop the ignite. It is explained pretty well on top.

-Spell order

Q spell works perfectly for Nuke. By level 6 your spells should be
With ghost, ignite, It is a rape combo, with low CD. I'm not too big of a fan of the W, and it is possible to instead of getting 1 into W, just put the stat into E. E CC isn't very long, so i like having all my spells, and the W will be nice for allowing you keep in lane.

I go a 21/9 build with her. I don't get crit damage mastry because I see no crits at all in this build. There isn't much point without crits. I like going the 9 into defense to get that quick boost of movement when i dodge. With dodge runes and mastery dodge it will pick in when you randomly need it. Some other choices are 21/0/9, but overall the most important is the 21 into offense. Nice armor pen, and some mag % pen.

IV. Irelia characteristics

-My views on her

She is a semi squishy char. But overall she is definitely not a char you want to be in a group setting. your ult is worthless if you keep in that 5 hero group huddle, your ult blades won't reach the squishy heros. She is one of those chars you want to gank the weak characters, and jump in when the heros are weak. She awesome at hit and run tatics. Both her Ult and W don't require a boot time, meaning that she won't stop while running.

-play style, why i choose burst

-Stats gained per level up

This stuff will be added later, as soon as I can find it somewhere.

V. Items/Item explanation

She will have lots of life steal with spell vamp and life steal. By the end of the build its like 90% life steal and 20% spell vamp. One important thing to note is that if you are in a lane of minions, and you are 1v1, you notice you are loosing. Hit you Q on those weak minions that you can 1 hit kill, thus to reboot the Q, but the best part is you get spell vamp. The spell vamp works with sheen so you can leeching around 100-200 life, each minion.

So you start off with a sapphire cyrstal, 1 hp and 1 mp pot. You are probably wondering, wtf? why go if you are an AD char. We want this for sheen. Also the crystal will let you kill 5 more minions (assuming you skill shot 5 minions) cause 5 * 35 = 170. Pots are nice just to strat off, and this should be able to get you enough gold for 860 + 350 (shoes and sheen)

Then I move onto Sheen. This is one of the best items to stack with your Q ability. Normally with Sheen you use the ability then you can hit them for double the damage. But with irelia the Sheen ability stacks into the Bladesurge ability(meaning that the double AD is stacked into the ability). Thus making you able to hit for 150-250 damage right after getting it. Normally I pick up sheen with +1 movement shoes, to allow you to catch up if they try to run. This with Equilibrium Strike will allot you to normal hit them a few times.

I get the +3 shoes for a pretty simple reason. You want to be fast, and this is a nuke char with physical attack. Merc threads are nice, I will need to do some more research if merc threads stack directly with her passive (like 10+33% or is it 10% first then the 33% CC reduction)Beserker shoes are nice if you are going as, but this char doesn't go much if any AS.

The next item i pick up is spell vamp. This is an intresting item. Spell vamp works with your Q ability, spell vamp works not by how much hp they have to steal, but how much damage you input. Thus you could do like 1k damage to a minion with 15% spell vamp you are gonna steal 150 hp. The extra ap from the hextech revolver is nice for your Equilibrium strike as it 1:1 ratio. Spell vamp will be your ticket for staying in lane, and some cool tricks. As stated above if you are 1v1, and need some hp, bladesurge some minions and you will recover like 600 hp almost instantly.

VI. Strategies

As stated you are squishy, try and get last hits on minions. Your farming ability is rivals that of Mord, Anivia, etc... During the mid game you can 1 shot kill with your bladesurge ability on the cater minions. However, I would normal hit a melee minion then use your bladesurge to finish them off.

So when fighting try to pick battles that are 1 v 1 or ganks. When i enter fight I first pop my Hiten style before I get too close. This is so that I don't forget to pop it while I had mad button jamming. Then Engage with your Bladesurge, and then immediately follow with an Equilbrium Strike. Normal hit them once or while shooting your ultimate blades, and then pop your bladesurge again.

VII. Other Possible Items

These other possible items would replace the 3rd B.F. Sword, Depending on the cost of the item, you may want to buy it before completion of the Blood thirster

-Youmuu's Ghostblade, armor pen, attack damage, whats not to love? It also has a nice active, and can pump your char into a quick DPS char
-Stark's Fervor
-Guardian Angel

What not to get
