this is true, but sometimes that extra little damage is the difference between landing a kill, and not.

its purely situational, take damage if your coping well, if not take another support item to help soak up that damage. Better to do this in response to armor pen or magic pen being bought by enemies.

I love playing Jarvan IV support, but I personally build him really tanky. I honestly don't see the need to be buying offensive damage items on him, since you're not a solotop/jungle J4 and you probably won't have the gold to do so, and if you do you're not playing your role as the ADC's personal damage sponge.

Build is original, and the guide is good.

I like it.

Except for a missing conclusion, I have no complaints :D

Might as well get Alistar...

But on a more serious note, I wouldn't think support Jarvan IV is an entirely bad idea. Some decent CC and ally stats buff. The only thing he doesn't provide for an ADC is sustain. I wouldn't typically build Randuin's Omen over Locket of the Iron Solari simply because of the cost, nor would I typically get Black Cleaver and Warmog's Armor for the same reasons. Although, if I was doing extremely well, I'd probably get a Ravenous Hydra and Black Cleaver for that AoE armor shred.

I wouldn't say that your typical support can run with any ADC - there are some weaker synergies that you shouldn't really be considering over better options - but the possibility of Jarvan IV support isn't irrational.

'Your typical Support can run with any AD carry' - no. He can't. Jarvan is bad with Ashe and Kog'Maw. I'm going to give him a whirl sometime with my friend's Twitch though.

Yes, He Can. If you look at my match history, those games were with a Vayne, Varus, Ashe and MF. The lost game was due noob playing Vayne that just couldnt do a thing, the others worked fine. Infact Working with Ashe synergised very well, between Jarvan's Knock Up and Ashes constant slow from arrows it was very difficult to get away, and thats not including Jarvans Exhaust and "W: Golden Aegis".

It works very well. If you know how to play Jarvan well, and know how to support well.. you will do good with most any ADC aslong as they dont suck majorly and have half a brain cell.
