Introduction

Alrighty, this is my jax build, i use this build almost exclusively in 5v5's and only swap when the "tank" cant do his job and i need to get some more health.

Jax is a very fun character to play. he can dodge, use his attacks, spells and can shield himself against attacks and spells. i love playing him for that reason, hes a jack of all trades and i hope you agree with me when i say he can dominate most champaions if played correctly.

Please feel free to comment on my build :)

Pros / Cons

Pros
    Survivability late game
Can destroy many champions with ease
    AOE stun for the win
Hybrid attacks means other champs cant really defend against you
Empowered Leap Strike can wipe up to a third of champions health early game.

Cons
Quite weak early game with this build
If CC'd you cant do much, as with all champions
Can be dominated by ranged characters unless you are sneaky

Summoner Spells

Exhaust for that champion who is just getting away from you or who is hammering you with their spells/attacks, this will take the edge off things and give you a fighting chance, i use ignite for after a leap strike, normally a leap strike early on can frighten another champion, especially when i gank from a bush. so if they use any abilites to get away i chuck an Ignite on them, then sit back and wait for the awesome commentator to yell out how awesome i am.

There are other combinations that are viable but i choose these spells because of my masteries, Ghost for instance is always a good speed boost but i have never felt the need for extra speed especially as i have a Phantom Dancer in my build.

Teleport is another thing i have toyed about with, but it makes me play a bit more rashly because i know i can get back into action quicker. and my build can be quite squishy early game.

Items

CORE ITEMS

the reason i go for all the items i have above, is after you get Guinsoo's Rageblade people will start to fear you. then when you finish Hextech Gunblade off people wont be able to take you down on your own. too easy right? i have sat on 20% health to be ganked by a Jarvan IV, Olaf and a Nocturne. But they didnt coordinate their gank. so what happened? i hammered one, had the lifesteal and the spell vamp to keep myself up and continued to romp the other 2 when they got to me.

Trinity Force is a bit of an unkown for me, i havent tried it out personally yet. but once i do i will update this guide asap. i left the last slot open on purpose, the reason for this is most of the items are very expensive and it takes a lot of time to farm the money for all of them. its been a long time since i have been able to build a 5th item. so if anyone has done it and would like to give some insight i would love to take your ideas.

Skill Sequence

Ok, so my ability sequence isnt set in stone, depending on what champions im up against i swap out the Leap Strike for Counter Strike, this basically means i can adapt to AD champs or AP champs, ive have had Xin Zhao run up to me, knock me up but for me to dodge his second attack, STUN, [[empower] and ownage to the face. This was because i got my Counter Strike up increasing my dodge.

Low cooldown on Empower is just awesome for farming creeps or finishing off the last hit on that cheeky champ that is trying to run away, one big hit and they are hit for 6 so to speak.

Unique Skills

Counter Strike
Jax is unique in that whenever he dodges he can stun in a small aoe radius, this can change team fights dramatically! it can stop Miss Fortunes ulti, Master Yi in his Highlander's tracks and stop mages finishing you off with their last spell.

Relentless Assault
His other unique ability is extra damage on his third attack after level 6, this the reason i go for hextech gunblade first. this give me spell vamp off every third hit, which is quite substantial as his ultimate passive gives him more attack speed after each hit, and stacking with Guinsoos Rageblade, can make you attack up to 1.9 attacks a second, this is without the Phantom Dancer.

Relentless Assault
Jax's passive gives him a percentage of health for each Attack Power and Ability Power that he has through his items, so the more Ability Power/ Attack Power you have the more health you get, this includes the stacks off Guinsoo, so the more you attack the more health you get! result.

Farming

Farming early game is a little slow with Jax, he doesnt have a large mana pool and he doesnt have much AOE to smash minions with, but once you get to level 6 you are laughing, his third attack with his ultimate passive is just great, and you can level a minion wave in about 10 seconds maximum with just auto attacks, the more fed you get the attack speed you get and you can level minion waves in 3 seconds, its that easy. you dont even need to use any abilites, the Rageblade and his ulti just rack up the attack speed and attack damage that you can one shot minions with your third attack.

When attacking a turret make sure you swap off onto a minion for your third attack, why you say? this is due to the big hits Jax can pull off. it will make it easier for you to push and you dont lose that much time on attacking the turret.
