His abilities are perfect for a short attack and a fast escape.
You should use to kill your enemies in their suprise so that you take just a little damage.
Zed works with Energy which is constant at 200. Becasue of that you've to save your spells for optimal moments to deal the most damage as possible.
It's a big advantage to get the blue-buff everytime!!!
His 'E'-Spell is perfect for fast escapes over walls.
If you use your Ultimate you have to concentrate your spells for a moment on your enemy.
After that you deal so much damage, for every champ!
That's why Zed is OP.
