Optimal Final Build
Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Before I say anything, this guide is meant to be short, and to the point. Don't expect me to teach you how to play Tryndamere because I'm sure you already know. :)
Hello! I'm summoner MoeZiilla from the North American server, and I decided to make this quick guide for Jungle Tryndamere, a role I don't see him played as much I believe he should. I'm making this guide for fun because I have been having some great success in ranked as Tryndamere in the Jungle, and amazingly I went an average of 25 kills and 6 deaths in my first 3 games! Hopefully I will have a streak as good as that again, and if I do I will certainly be following my own guide. This guide is meant to be short and to the point, and I hope it can help you all out!
This doesn't show jungle creep kills, but I'm sure I had over 200 on average. ;)
Pros / Cons
• Decent early game
• Devestating late game
• No mana
• Hard to counter when hes in the jungle
• Possibly highest potential dmg champ
• Gap closer/slow
• Great sustain
• Most annoying (awesome) ult in the game
• Right arm is a lot stronger
• Can be kited
• Can be useless if underfed
• Heal/Ult requires good timing
• Left arm is a lot weaker
Greater Quintessence of Life Steal
Greater Mark of Attack Speed
Greater Glyph of Attack Speed
Greater Seal of Armor
These runes will give Tryndamere the highest amount of damage, while still being able to sustain himself in the Jungle. Getting Armor is important because he will be fighting monsters, but Magic resist is not because he will be taking no magic damage. Attack Speed gives him greater damage and faster clears than Attack Damage, especially in the later stages of the game. Finally, the Lifesteal is essential for Tryndamere to be able to perma-farm the jungle and maintain his hp in fights.
CAUTION: Before you think I'm stupid for having Attack Speed blues, I'm gonna explain why they are so good compared to the rest. First of all Tryndamere is an all offense champion, and building defense helps him very little considering he will be invincible for 5 seconds anyway. That makes Magic Resist utterly useless UNLESS you are often taking magic damage. There is 0 magic damage in the jungle, and when your past level 6, defense is very, very useless.
These masteries will give Tryndamere his much needed offense, and some additional defense. Going into the Offense tree is a necessity because tanky attributes are useless on an extremely powerful champion that becomes invincible for 5 seconds. I also chose some jungle masteries to help him clear faster. Summoner's Resolve and Summoner's Wrath are also taken to improve his ghost and gain gold per smite, which quickly adds up.
First of all as Jungle Tryndamere your spells should almost always be Ghost and Smite as they are better than all other options.
For Tryndamere, Ghost is a terrific spell, even better than Flash because his spinning slash already gives him that gap closer / escape while ghost lasts for much longer, and let's him chase down people effectively without getting kited. Using it in a fight almost ensures your ultimate won't be wasted by not being in melee range.
Smite is a neccesity on any Jungler because it allows him to jungle faster and safer. It lets him secure and possibly steal any buff or even dragon / baron. The extra gold you get very cast, in addition to faster and safer clears will bet you a lot of profit in the long run compared to something like Ignite.
Tryndamere's passive is probably one of the strongest passives in the game, from level 1-18. It gives him a potential permanent 35% crit chance which is HUGE at all stages. This is what makes Tryndamere the crit monster he is.
This is Tryndamere's heal and passive AD spell, giving him not only a ton of additional damage while building nothing but crit and attack speed, but also gives him a substantial amount of sustain. With lifesteal however, it is far more efficient t to simply heal by attacking with those massive criticals. We max this first because it gives far more stats than either his W or his E.
This spell gives Tryndamere a way to catch up to any opponent running away which is why we max it second, but in addition to that, it gives him a lot of teamfight usefulness and a huge advantage over other AD users from its up to 80 AD debuff.
This is Tryndameres gap closer that actually deals a good amount of damage with a 1.2 bonus AD scaling and good base values. It is maxed last because it gives only 30 more damage per rank, which is tiny compared to the benefits of leveling his other spells.
This is one of the most broken spells in the game, and if you use it well you almost sure to get the enemy team raging at you over chat. Be sure not to die first, but try to time this ult at the last possible moment in order to get its full effectiveness. If you use this ult to early you waste it's whole potential and it takes some skill to get it right. Max this whenever possible and make sure to never, in a team fight, use it simply to run away when you could get at least 2 kills or a ton of damage throughout that duration.
For the most part Tryndamere will use the same items every game to to the fat that he become an unkillable monster for 5 seconds thus defensive items are wasted and full offense is the most viable choice. The only different choices you will have to make are when you are being kited or cc'd to hard.
Default Jungle start, shouldn't really differ from this. You will sell the machete when you have to later.
Rush these items every game, and make sure to get Vampiric Scepter first for better clearing. These items together will give you the fastest, and safest jungling and ganking in the early game.
These three items will maximize your damage and should be bought most every game. Infinity edge for massive crits, more so that than the AD. Last Whisper is for dealing tons of damage to anyone, regardless of armor. Botrk is terrific for killing tanks, or baron, but most importantly it is excellent to get in range of that kiting adc and mow them down.
There are many good final items on Tryndamere but I believe these are the best. I never get extra defense because hes still invincible for the same, flat 5 seconds no matter what, but I can see a guardian angel being useful. (Sell Statikk Shiv for Phantom Dancer if you have a full build, its a slight upgrade at that point.
There are tons of items that are not the best on Tryndamere specifically because he scales mostly on crit and attack speed, rather than attack damage. People also like to give him tons of lifesteal when what he has already is plenty. Getting any defense on Tryndamere is a huge waste of his his potential, because full offense Tryndamere is still extremely tanky for 5 seconds and still has the best damage in the game.
In conclusion, I hope this guide helps many of you become better at Tryndamere in the Jungle, because once you play it, I'm sure you'll realize Tryndamere's potential to completely and utterly carry your team to Victory. Good luck and good hunting on the fields of justice to you summoner! :)
