she can reduce your q damage with her w, stun you out of it, or q out of range. in addition to having a very strong early game. the stridebreaker build will help you lock her down but in general stay away
Aatrox
easily cancels your q and his e makes him decently mobile, the gore drinker build is the best against him
Darius
probably sions worst matchup, you are an immobile tank, and he will shred you if you try and fight him one on one. try and freeze the wave and wait for your jungler to gank, the goredrinker build is best here because it gives you more health to play with.
Camille
you do magic damage with your e, so that can help with her passive shield. she outscales you but doesn't have too much kill pressure early, don't make yourself immobile by using your q because that lets her land a free e
Yorick
you have no way of escaping his cage, and when you stand still in your q he will use his e and throw his minions at you. go goredrinker and try to farm and survive the lane, with sanguine blade you can match his splitpush.
Renekton
you cant hit him with your q because he will just e out, and his stun will break your w shield, which is a large portion of your damage. his ult makes him hard to burst. go goredrinker and farm, you will outscale him eventually.
Jax
in laning phase he isn't much of a problem, you can cancel his leap strike with your q and slow him so he cant ever all in you, but he will outscale you and shred you and your carries late game.
Nasus
he will ignore you in lane, farm and outscale you. try going stridebreaker and communicate with your jungler to delay his scaling.
Vladimir
he can use his W to dodge your Q, and his sustain is very strong, making it hard to push him out of lane. go stridebreaker to run him down, using your phase rush to match his disengage.
Tryndamere
if you stand back there isn't much he can do, he might try and dive you but with phase rush and your stridebreaker slow you will almost always get a 1 for 1 trade. just farm and survive the lane.
Ornn
he can use his w to go unstoppable during your q but there is no way for either of you to die unless someone misplays.
Malphite
He's annoying, poking you with his Q constantly, but he does have some mana issues so try and play around that. you wont be able to catch him no matter what you do so just go Goredrinker and scale.
Rengar
although it seems like it is a bad matchup early, just try to predict when he will jump on you and counter it with your E into Q. Your W will give you plenty of survivability.
Kayle
probably the easiest matchup for sion, try to slow her with your e and all in whenever you can. with phase rush and stridebreaker she will never be able to run away from you
Teemo
hard pre 6, but after your first back it is incredibly easy. Just use your E, stridebreaker, and phase rush to run him down and give them what they deserve for playing Teemo.
Heimerdinger
tough to fight early because he pushes you in non stop, but you can use your e to reposition his towers. goredrinker is good here to help you survive his prolonged damage
Gangplank
his w can cleanse your cc combo, and his q will poke you down in lane. but if you can get into melee range with your ultimate and all in him you win very hard.
Garen
He will run you down the lane, execute with his ultimate, and shred you with his E. you cant ever fight him so just try set up for a gank, even though his tenacity makes him very hard to kill
Akali
very mobile but if you can get on her you will win easily, be careful of her ultimate damage. Her E will follow you if you use your ultimate so keep that in mind. go stridebreaker to try catch up to her, or goredrinker if you find yourself behind.
Sett
his E cancels your Q, and his passive makes his trades early very good. try not to let him ult you because it will deal a huge amount of damage to your team.
Nasus
outscales you so be careful when dealing with him
Thresh
any champion that has a stun/root/charm/other form of cc synergises well with Sion, my favourite junglers to play with are amumu and Sejuiani because it ensures that your opponent cannot move and allows you to lay down your damage

Hey, im Oskarl3 and I've been playing AD bruiser sion since season 8, I'm currently plat 4 with a 75% win rate and discovered sion is a fantastic champion to climb with in low elo. although most people prefer lethality/crit or full tank in my opinion the best way to play him right now is using his fantastic scaling(w passive) and bruiser items to have an easy laning phase, and a competative late game. Ive listed 2 builds that you can swap out depending on matchup. in my opinion these are the best bruiser sion builds.
Why bruiser?
Sion is an extremely versatile champion, which means that no matter the opposing team comp he is always a good pick. additionally he almost never gets banned, so you can get him almost every game. My guide will help you play sion as a bruiser to carry games more easily in low elo. His damage and survivability makes him fantastic in teamfights as well as a good splitpusher, his ultimate can damage towers and with sanguine you might be able to backdoor unexpectedly.
